Seven Days Of You by Cecelia Vinesse

Sophia is a young half polish, half French teen girl, with her dad remarried in Paris with a wife and two kids, she lives in Tokyo with her mum and sister.

Seven days before they're due to relocate back to another continent, David and Mika, her friends, inform her that Jamie is coming back home from boarding school.

This would be great if she and him got along, he knew how she felt about David yet he's loved up with Caroline, who is the opposite to our nerdy Sophia.

There are a lot of revelations about the relationships between the group of friends and more drama with Sophia and Alison's dad. It highlights how seemingly simple relationships can change over time whether you notice or not at first.

Watch for Jamie and Sophia too as they hang out more and the ending highlights that the end can still be continued on from in the future if you keep hoping.

Overall I really loved this book, plus, being set in Tokyo I loved all the references to their culture such as Pokemon, Totoro, Studio Ghibli and their various candies and games.

Are We All Lemmings And Snowflakes? By Holly Bourne

In this book we meet Olive, she suffers bouts of hyper activity when she can run all the time, desire and crave sudden sex, have erratic thoughts and get by on no sleep at all until she crashes into the blackness and could sleep forever.

Olive doesn't know her mental health diagnosis but after getting hospitalised again, she winds up at a trial teen camp catering on helping mental illness.

There for four weeks, she meets, Lewis and Jamie two boys she becomes friendly with, has a breakthrough about prevention of mental illness and also spirals. We see through her photography and kindness project how passionate she can be about change and awareness of mental health as she begins a movement to raise awareness of helping mental health.

It was an eye opening idea about how teens could be treated for mental health conditions and also shows the extent of the severity of what they face can be like as we see how scary and daunting it was for Olive to face. It handles the subject sensitively and with care making it one of the best YA mental health reads I've discovered this far.

My Secret YouTube Life by Charlotte Seager

Lily is a Youtube vlogger who goes by the name LilyLoves
However her life isnt perfect as she deals with her drunk boyfriend who's a wannabe rock star who treats her badly.

Then there's Issa, a follower of Lily whom wants her so called perfect life for herself, only to be forcing it to happen and it doesn't in the way she dreams as she uses others photo's on her blog to enhance her life to the online world to have startling friendship consequences for her.

When Lily and Issa see each other, a shocking actions sets the two spiralling and we witness their lives break and then to realise what truly matters in life and how they can grow and evolve from their shared experience.

It was a typical Youtube experience, believable and crazy from both girls perspectives. It deals with cyber bullying and online hate as well as tabloid news and how the media can spread lies and truths but blow them out of proportion. For a debut it shone through all the other YouTube fiction books I have read sounding more grown up in  tone of language and relationship issues raised.

Star By Star by Sheena Wilkinson

Stella lost her mother to the great flu ranging on throughout England and Ireland both, during the first world war. Setting off for where her mother used to know in Ireland and being expected there were she meets Sandy and an array of older women whom love together in a sort of lodging house together.

Sandy is an soldier of war and Stella helps him to re focus his life as he helps her garden and later helps a local couple too. As women start to be able to vote and the war ends, tragedy stills strikes....

This is a heartbreaking story about coping with illness and war and I could imagine all the grief and joy they feel over the events that happen during the book. Something that tickles me about the book is a coincidence that main character Stella Graham is actually a name comprising of both my parents first names! A coincidence which have us all a laugh but at the same time very wartime esque appropriate!

A Taste Of Blue Light by Lydia Ruffles

This book focuses on the life of Lux and her friends Mei and Olivia. As well as Henry and Cal her two love interests through the book.

The main plot is that she can't recall what happened during the summer after she wakes up one day in hospital unable to remember just what has happened.

She attends an arts school and writes but after the brain injury, struggles to get back to herself.

Overall the main focus is on the sensitivity of the brain and injury whilst also looking into the cause in this case being a major event, a terrorist plot. It was an okay book but I didn't find it relatable in any way and found the first third of the book to be a drag.

All These Beautiful Things by Elizabeth Klehfoth

Knollwood prep is hiding some deadly secrets. Charlie is part of the A's, an elite group made up of generations of the same few rich various family people.

Wondering about what happened to her mum, Charlie along with the current A's, set about investigating digging up evidence from years ago which incriminates a whole past generation of the A's.

From an old love triangle to jealousy, to possible murder the secrets are deadly and the Charlie looks set to get justice for all the wrongs the former A's caused even if it does mean some of her family could be at fault but will she find her mum at last?

Well I heard the hype about the book, but didn't feel it was what I expected. The characters didn't really differentiate to me and they seemed all the same rich kids at a school for them being all they had in common and their friendship seemed inevitable and not natural. The idea of the plot about the mystery of her mum's disappearance was great on premise but the story could've been better and a lot shorter I feel. It just wasn't for me it didn't hook me in and the characters were a let down. You may still enjoy it but it wasn't for me.

Am I Normal Yet? By Holly Bourne

Evie has OCD and has been recovering from a debilitating spiral into the condition. She has been going to therapy and has even now got her first date with a guy called Ethan.

However, at the party together he ends up drunk and in bed with another girl whilst it makes Evie feel rubbish, it makes her rekindle her friendship with Lottie and Amber, two girls from her past whom she meets again at the party.

The book tells Evie's struggle between OCD and 'normal' as she wants to never again be seen as she was before with old friend Jane when she was at her worst with her condition. As her family pick up on signs Evie is relapsing, she becomes aware that she needs her friends but still refuses to confide in them about her OCD but soon she may be forced to as she faces being resectioned...

This is a great book about the issue of OCD in teens, a lot of people think OCD wouldn't happen with teens as they are supposed to be messy and carefree or stressing over exams not ultra clean and tidy. It shows the bigger issues and deep set thoughts on the mind causing behaviors and actions with full effect. Guy and Ethan who were Evie's love interests I found very awful to read how they treated girls but at least the spinster and feminism club was born!

The Truth & Lies Of Ella Black by Emily Barr

Settled at a home and happy with two best friends, Lily and Jack in her life, but Ella has her dark side, Bella or Bad Ella to contend with where she imagines committing murders.

When her parents whisk her away to Rio de Janeiro, she unexpectedly finds her seventeen year old life is built on lies and terrible secrets upon discovering an envelop containing documents securing the knowledge that she is adopted.

Her parents aren't her parents or family at all, to her anyway, it soon makes sense to her why they ran away to Rio so swiftly and why her so called parents were acting shiftily.

Still, she has Christian and his friends in Rio that she meets and help her as she uncovers the truth about her adoption and her true birth mother and just who she was.

This was a really great book and keeps you thinking about what could be coming next in suspense! I was rapt from the beginning and loved the way their supposed family unit was in the beginning compared to when Ella finds out the truth. There's a great mystery to uncover about her birth and we stay with her as she finds it all out.
