As Claudette focuses on Jacob, a photographer, Ross a local lad and Dan a dangerous individual whom many owe things too, she sets about discovering the truth of what happened to Sarah and if she's alive or dead.

It's gripping and worked well flashing back to the past seeing the girls become friends and how Sarah had to fight to survive. It combines so many issues from drugs, care, family and friendship as well as knowing who you can rely on to trust the most.

Rosie Loves Jack by Mel Darbon

In this book, we meet Rosie a girl with Downs syndrome whom is in love with her boyfriend Jack. The only trouble is her dad who wants them to split up as Jack has anger issues due to his head being hurt as a baby.

So when Jack gets sent away to deal with his anger, he writes to Rosie via postcards her dad hides away but she discovers.

Using her initiative and wanting to be with Jack, Rosie plans with her friend Lou's help, a way to get to Brighton and sets off with her bag of belongings including her birthday money to fund her trip.

Only things don't go to plan and she finds herself encountering kind strangers, new friends, kind mum's, then a darker world of secret work and the dangers it can lead you into to, especially when you can't escape...

Rosie is determined, brave and severely in love. This book was amazingly bold and daring whilst it captivated me from the start with the unique collision of characters and plot. We go on a journey with a smart protagonist proving her parents she able to do things and not giving up on love especially.

An absolutely astounding debut from a brand new author in YA!

Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver

Dara and Nick are sisters who've been torn apart by a tragic traffic accident and a broken friendship.

As Nick struggles to accept what happened and what she truly lost, all is not as it seems as a nine year old girl goes missing mysteriously and the action grips us in a psychological twister of a book!

As Nick tries to cope with moving back in with her mum, you won't expect the end twist and I didn't at all but so much did and didn't make sense due to it looking back on what I read. However, it was an amazing twist and worked okay but the missing girl part could be been so much more than we got! It kept me reading but overall I can only keep thinking of more to change and add.

All About Mia by Lisa Thompson

Mia is the middle sibling between perfect university heading Grace and younger high achieving swimmer Audrey.

when Grace returns from her travels with a shock, she's pregnant and her boyfriend is with her vowing to stick by her so they move in after an explosive grilling from her parents.

In the story Mia wears an All About Mia t-shirt, going out drinking tons, losing her virginity, planning a holiday with her mates and looking for love and attention from anyone and anywhere. She has a neighbour whom she baby sits for and even makes a pass at him, a forty year old.

Then her friends fall out with her, one over a guy, and her little sister goes missing as well as suddenly, her older sister going into labour!

Mia is a live wire and can't be contained, she is a firework, sparking off until she explodes as her actions become worse and worse and they do get her the attention she craves even if she can't see it at first. She is all about herself, as the title suggests, however she seems insecure and unhappy and overall wants toto be someone she isn't. It was an eventful book and will leave you remembering such a wild character in Mia.

Sweetfreak by Sophie McKenzie

When Carey's best friend Amelia starts getting bullied online my someone under the online pseudonym, Sweetfreak, Carey is accused after the messages are traced to her IP address by the police. Facing serious charges she freaks out and despite pleading her innocence isn't believed by anyone, even as she tries to prove it.

Rose, a popular girl at school and her clones soon offer each girl separate shoulders to cry on but can they trust them?

Taylor, Amelia's ex also starts to turn his wavering girl based attention on Carey and she gets swayed into a brief kiss with him but it turns out he's hiding secrets that she needs to figure out right now!

Nattersnap is how messages got sent starting the bullying, its also since added fuel to the fire of all these friendships and relationships.

Amelia then goes missing and while Carey knows she and her friend upset her sister recently maybe the answer has been staring her in the face all along as to whom Sweetfreak is...

After Carey starts her mission to prove her innocence, she gets caught up in becoming a runaway, befriending homeless strangers and a police wanted girl. She deals with tough situations which in real life can have catastrophic outcomes on anyone. We see both sides of the story from victim and bully, allowing us to get a full view of how both feels and how they are effected by their actions. Not only a great book on the issue of bullying and ever growing social media issues but its a great mystery by a well established queen of that category. I've loved Sophie McKenzie's writing since I was twelve and now ten years on, am still never disappointed by her books.
