Four Of A Kind by Kellie Bean

Reagan is one of four girls who are quadruples at a new school. Reagan may struggle at the new school but her sister's lives aren't as perfect as she first thought, Rhiannon, Reilly and Reece are all going through stuff, not being able to do their favorite activities like seeing old friends, boyfriends and clubs means finding new one's within a new community and as the family is news to moving to the area they're all feelings the pressure to keep up a good image for the whole family, especially their mum.

Reagan however finds herself chancing the brushes of love with Kent and throwing herself into the school's drama club as well as keeping up online with her old friend Nadine.

We really see how change impacts life as a teen and how much it changes us and the people we thought we knew. I enjoyed this book and it had a great Halloween section too. I recommend this if you can relate to the situations mentioned or just like a nice young adult fiction.

The Way It Hurts by Patty Blount

Elijah needs to win to support his special needs sister, Anna who is thirteen to his seventeen and facing being admitted to a residential facility due to her severe autism.

Kristen wants to make her grandma proud so getting rejected from New York performance college hits her hard until Elijah approaches her about singing with his band after hearing her perform live at their school despite her singing musical theatre not rock. Eli supports her as her grandma later suffers a bad stroke despite their turbulent relationship.

Throughout the book, there are a lot of sexists remarks made as well as online interactions under pseudonym handles on websites. When Eli and Kristen confront what's being said about mainly Kristen, they argue but get past it eventually despite feeling attracted to each other and sharing a kiss, they go on to date others for a while as the pressure gets too much as news stations pick up on their band's drama the pressure could prove too much for them all...

It was a very dramatic book and I did feel like Kristen was a weak female character throughout just taking what's said and letting Eli try and deal with it especially at the end of the book when the future is revealed about what they're doing now.

After he discovers her talents they become an electric pair as they share their love and passion of music and piano together and Dane encourages her to achieve her potential as a pianist at college.

However, after they get carried away in their passion, the couple find themselves discovered by and unexpected source...

This couple was electric and both in my eyes happy with their relationship despite the ages and legalities i do feel it was a nice romance and not a pressured one but alas the law wins over for them. I truly loved the book and the forbidden romance within!

A Bad Boy Stole My Bra by Lauren Price

Alec and Riley are new next door neighbours that meet when Alec steals Riley's Disney bra as a date one night. Vowing to get it back Riley issues him and tries to get it back but instead gets a friendship and flirtation instead as we learn of Alec's cocky nature in this super sweet contemporary which will having you bawling with laughter, especially at Alec's one liners which are stunners!

There's also Kaitlin, Tony and Tiana whom all have bad linked memories for Riley and as she comes to terms with that, or not in some cases as her panic attacks come on stronger, we see how much Alec cares about Riley as he takes care of her as they strike and finally reveals to him just what happened surrounding the night to do with Kaitlin her cousin.

From a new young Midlands author this is one amazing debut that you will adore of you like contemporary and Young Adult fiction books. Alec is a typical cheeky guy and Riley an outraged girl at his actions and fights back feisty. The pair made the perfect cocktail for a loving, funny, eventful couple for the book to base around the drama was truly heart wrenching and truthful as grief can strike for times after a tragic death.

This is the cutest contemporary YA novel I have read this year!

One by Sarah Crossan

Told in verse this book is the story of conjoined twins Grace and Tippi. Aged sixteen they head off to normal high school after being home schooled but as their parents face losing their jobs and their dad relies on alcohol obviously spending money they don't have, the girls worry especially when they start collapsing...

The twins are regular in every way as they try drinking alcohol and smoking despite what is happening to their combined body.
They face a tough life decision for them which can literally lead to life or death and we see each girls dedication to the other as they prepare to face an uncertain future.

I liked they made a documentary and their sister was still driven to chase her dreams despite the twins being Grace for her.

The book was super unique being told solely on verse for the whole story, the unique concept of conjoined twin girls experiencing school for the first time and finding love and friendship many thing we take for granted with no challenges but for them we can see how everything effects them and the other one of them too. The issues are financial for the family, anorexia for their younger sister and we see the effects of them too.
It's a raw emotional read, prepare your tissues!

Like Other Girls by Claire Hennessy

Lauren attends St Agnes's a posh girls school her mum is the head teacher of which causes issue for her as home issues get dragged into school later in the book.

Her old best friend Steph is transgender becoming Evan and through flashbacks to the past and events between herself and Steph show us a whole new side to their relationship as more than friends.

Lauren herself is a cis girl and is a member of a local LGBTQIA group where she makes good friends with Ellie and Steph also used to attend their meet ups until things became awkward between the pair.

In the book we early on see reckless sex and heavy drinking mentioned as she falls in with boyfriend Justin and his friends whom are scum in the language they use about Lauren. Justin is a flake of a boyfriend and coldly cuts her out of his life as she desperately tries to contact him as she suddenly realises she's late and now pregnant.

We see her battle with abortion and where to get one as she lives in Ireland and soon outs a clinic to a newspaper whom blast the story. She also flees to England to seek an abortion over there as her only resort which sees her use devius ways to afford it.

All this time though, she keeps it to herself and confides in no one and starts drinking more and more until she attends therapy and finally opens up to how she truly feels about everything that's happened in her life.

In the upcoming school musical she has to play a man singer which angers her as she watches the other girls get better roles she wished for but she turns the situation around after confiding  in her friends about the newspaper story on abortion not being fair was through her and so the play becomes her own.

This was a hard novel to get into but eventually it picked up after about one hundred pages and more drama was thrown in from the abortion perspective. While a good book with that storyline, I did wish for more with her friends and their love lives as mostly it seemed confusing to keep up and would've preferred it to be a little easier to follow who was what and  with who. I do commend it as a good novel about LGBTQIA issues but for me I need  to possibly read up on the more newer types of sexuality to appreciate it more, the abortion side was well played out as it's real life events still as people fight for abortion to be legal in Ireland and so is doing well raising further awareness in the future generations.

Nick and Charlie by Alice Oseman

Nick and Charlie are a young couple, two guys who have been together two years but now Nick is off to university and Charlie can't comprehend him not being there always.

One night at a party, Charlie gets drunk and finds out another strong couple have broken up before university and in a drunken fit of emotion breaks up with Nick regrettably for both of them.

After a break in communication, Charlie approaches Nick and they reconcile but can they get back together knowing the future?

It was a great little story and I did thoroughly enjoy it. Nick and Charlie seem like a great couple being together from I think, fifteen especially shows their connection was always there and not going to be easily broken!

99 Days by Katie Cotugno

As Molly returns back to her hometown, takes up her old job again and crosses paths with old friends whom are now new enemies in some cases, gets entangled with Patrick and Gabe Donnelly once again, life is proving to be tricky and pressuring her to make a decision before its too late.

There's also the fact that everywhere she goes, still people call her a slut and give her the side eye. Slowly Molly does make friends and also peace with her past decisions and actions.
We see how her adoptive mum exposed her secrets about cheating on her boyfriend in her latest book. Which unfortunately for Molly, exposed it all to her friends and the town people.

This book reminds me of Abbi Glines The Vincent Brothers books and I enjoyed them although this book is more suitable to younger readers compared to them.

Beware That Girl by Teresa Toten

Set at Waverley school in New York, Kate has a scholarship to study and lives in a crummy flat rented from a Chinese couple whom she also works part time for. She had an abusive, murderous father and not a great time growing up.

Olivia is a rich girl, her dad isn't around a great deal as he works hard and away from home. Her mum has passed away and so she lives with her apartment cleaner, Anka whom is Polish.

Kate knows Olivia was in the year above her before disappearing for a year, but not why she did and so she looks up Olivia's record at school and discovers just what happened to her the past year despite what Olivia originally tells her.

Olivia and Kate become swift friends and super close and so eventually she invites Kate to live with her.

Meanwhile Mark is the director of Waverly school and Olivia is drawn to him and so Olivia finds herself trapped in an abusive sexual relationship. Due to the lack of love I feel Olivia has had surrounding her during her life as well as her mental health struggles. She also used to cut herself when younger and unfortunately, Mark abuses her leaving her disgusted with her body as she has cuts and bruises all over her body he made.

Fortunately, Olivia and Kate work together and upon discovering a photo album full of pictures of his victims in his flat they confront him together when he comes over to their flat to collect Olivia, resulting in a death and shock for the others.

This book is reminiscent of Gossip Girl and the Private series by Kate Brian. Thanks to the publisher for allowing me to review it.
