I loved the book so much from the Belle and Beast aspect of falling in love in and with the actual bookshop and the guy with it too my favourite scene without a doubt was when Hallie's mum meets Dimitri it was just like a scene from the comedy Miranda, my favourite! It made me laugh and I loved how it showed social media can help a physical business out not ruin it too as well the book message trail full of memories of times in others lives too I relate with many of my books being written in by my mum stating when and why they were bought for me too and it's so true how they can bring people together this book had a perfect concept for me and other book lovers will fall in love with this book for sure!

Sunny Days And Sea Breezes by Carole Matthews

When Jodie escapes to the Isle Of Wight to her brother Bill's holiday houseboat, she meets neighbour and chainsaw carver Ned, bristly Ida who secretly loves Ned, fake statue George and vibrant, nosy Marilyn.

Wanting to wallow in depression and grief at first, due to a huge loss she's getting away for afresh refreshing start from to allow herself to heal, she's left her estranged husband behind in London along with best friend Della.

We soon learn about Chris her husband and Megan and Beth, not all was as it seems in her situation and why she escaped London life at first but let me assure you the conclusion to the book doesn't disappoint and I rooted for Jodie to be true to what her heart wants a sunny escape from life in a book!

The Last Charm by Ella Allbright

Jake moves into Layla's house after she and her dad have been abandoned by her mum and stay instead with her granddad a couple doors away.

As Jake suffers at the hands of his dad and his mum can't fight back, he gets to know Layla and her granddad becomes his role model and a much better and loving father figure.

He sends Layla charms each special time something happens only a misunderstanding means she always thinks they're from her mum who left her behind.

As the years to on, Jake and Layla stay in touch and are friends of sorts however it takes a long time for Layla to realise just what she wants in a guy after a string of bad relationships and a heartbreaking situation too.

My word this book broke me, it was a stunning story and the twists and turns especially towards the end took my breath away in a good way it was such a fantastic read showing how relationships change over time and raising awareness of serious issues so trigger warning of you are sensitive to the subjects of miscarriage and domestic abuse.

The First Date by Zara Stoneley

After long term boyfriend Robbie goes off to find himself, Rosie sets out online dating only when she gets stood up by Gabe, she meets handsome, witty, charmer Noah.

Rosie and Noah have a connection all through the book but thanks to Rosie's player dad she won't let herself fall for Noah thinking he'll turn out like her dad and hurt her too.

Her dad, is a cheat plain and simple and her mum is fabulous at the end of the book as is Noah and his friends as Gabe turns up in a random shocking way! Noah also had a hidden depth behind getting close to Rosie after past losses from loving someone alike his best friend Jed and was really moving bringing them closer together.

I rooted for Rosie and Noah a fabulous couple from the start I was hooked on this book!

Did I mention I Miss You? By Estelle Maskame

After Tyler left Eden alone, we finally see how Eden has been after a year without him in her life as she relied on Rachael and her mum support to help her heal. Though it soon becomes apparent that she's now seriously angry at Tyler. A huge contrast to the calm character Tyler shockingly returns as and of course, Eden doesn't take his return easily and hits out, literally.

As Ella tries to get their family talking properly they all end up forced on holiday together where things stay the same despite Tyler being the bigger man to Eden's dad.

After more tension and words fired getting them nowhere, Tyler and Eden head back to Portland together where Tyler shows her the work he's done and is doing to change his and others lives which is simply put, astounding and humbling compared to his old character.

As the couple look set to be together though they must return home to try and patch up their family because surely they can't hate them forever, their friends acceptance eventually proved that, hopefully?

This was such an ending to the main trilogy! I didn't expect Tyler to start a ne  life in Portland of all places but it proves he wanted to understand Eden and her past better and share in what she knew. It was nice to learn of Tyler's normal job and humbling charity start up as not many young guys would think of doing something like that a majority of the time and it shows how Tyler wanted to better guy for Eden.

Did I Mention I Need You? By Estelle Maskame

Tyler is in New York thanks to his mum helping him heal himself after the abuse he suffered for years at the hands of his father. Eden travels to stay with him despite being in a relationship now with Dean but not in love with Dean sadly as she is still in love with Tyler, her stepbrother.

But as she moves in with Tyler, their relationship rekindles whilst they deal with Snake and Emily whose British and a new lodger in the apartment. They also face their friends and enemies joining them and threatening their happiness as they finally reveal their relationship to their loved ones to shock, acceptance and hatred as they deal with the guilt and hurt, only separately after a shock twist ending.

This book was like an episode of Gossip Girl full of drama, backstabbing, manipulation and lies. Relationships get torn apart and friendships seem uncertain as their relationship implodes their group around them. There's sweet moments though in New York involving dates, tattoo's in their natural relationship language they use which is Spanish. All in all they realise they actually don't want to and can't be apart anymore even though it will tear their families apart...

Did I Mention I Love You? by Estelle Maskame

Eden is spending the summer in LA to meet her father's new wife and her three son's, now Eden's stepbrothers. Chase is six, Jake is fourteen and Tyler seventeen, a year older than Eden and a live wire to put it lightly. He is the typical bad boy and takes drugs, smokes joints and drinks till he's paralytic.

Eden and Tyler can't stand each other yet forced together during her stay, the pair soon run in the same crowd as Eden makes friends with Rachael who's friends with Meghan and Tiffani, Tyler's irritating, controlling girlfriend.

Eden stays out late, drinks at parties and finds herself getting guys attention that she never expected only it's Tyler whom she suddenly falls for and after finding out his hard past to do with his dad, contending with Tiffani and managing their growing feelings, this family secret looks set to explode eventually...

This is a drama filled book about love, lust and forbidden love overall. However it features so much more and hits on so many huge issues that can effect teens from child abuse, pregnancy, drinking under age, college stress, friendship issues and drugs.

It was a fun and charged read with typical teenage characters but each so varied in personality it was extremely drama filled!

One Day In December by Josie Silver

Laurie clasps eyes on a boy she can't forget.

A year later at her friend Sarah's Christmas party, she meets the boy from the bus and finds out his name is Jack and he's Sarah's boyfriend.

As the next year goes on, the pair waver with their feelings and not wanting to split up her best friend and her boyfriend, the following year she chooses to go on a trip to Thailand to escape from it all. While she's there, she can forget about the moments she shared with Jack and meets Oscar.

As the decade goes on, the girls each land their dream jobs, however one relationship falls apart and one progresses to heading for the aisle! A breakdown of a friendship, new job abroad and a new love around the world, each character winds up in the own ever after but are they all happy, read it to find out!

Told from Laurie's and Jack's perspectives, their stories collide in a unique and frankly harmless way until the drama ensues and forbidden love becomes an issue. They both go through the motions but drag Sarah through it with them all the while and later Oscar too. It was a great read and shows how life can present the most unique of meetings that can change your life for ever, this book is life changing for them and us as we share their story, a fantastic read for those who've been through tough love situations.

A Winter Retreat At The Paris Cheese Shop: Part 1 by Victoria Brownlee

After living together as a happy couple in Melbourne for eight years Paul has decided to call it quits with Ella as he attempts to go off to Thailand and discover himself as inspired by Jessyka, his gym cross fit buddy.

Ella was expecting a proposal, not this and so was her mum too!

So post breakup, her friend Billie is there with wine and cheese as Ella recalls meeting Paul as a student in France and how he's changed into a high flying financial man since then but it inspires her to make a bold move and quit her job and live in Paris for a year. In her words, 'to drink wine and eat cheese!'

So she heads off to Paris where she explores all the little coffee shops and finds her dream cheese shop where she buys some great cheeses she falls in love with. Ella also looks for work and finds a cafe with an Australian server of all coincidences and finds a hot mystery man...

Who knows where Ella's journey will take her eventually? She is a headstrong and impulsive woman for sure taking on Paris alone and not a hundred percent certain of the language! She's hugely likeable and this book was a lovely easy read to immerse myself in, I could imagine walking Paris streets myself, I love it!

In this book we meet Caro, who's mum lay dying as she discovers just where her absent father disappeared to and why...

Meanwhile Bernadette finally finds the courage to leave her loveless and emotionally abusive husband to enjoy the finer things in life she wants to for a change...

So as Caro discovers who Lila is and Lila discovers Bernadette, their lives link in ways that see the day change their lives forever.

This was a fabulous book, set only over the course of a day all I can say is it was stunning. A captivating, gripping and tumultuous read indeed! I loved courageous Caro, rooted for Bernadette and seethed at Lila and Ken's characters, they deserved each other in my opinion! Cammy Lila's would be fiancée was such a sweet guy, she missed a good one there she didn't deserve him though in my opinion! As you can tell I became attached to the characters reading on I felt like I was invested in their lives as if I were a nosy neighbour or family member! But I truly recommend this book to you, for all the drama the emotional journey and relationships between the characters made it a welcome addition to the chick lit, romance genre, it has been one of my favourite reads for the genre this year.

A Very French Affair by Sue Roberts

Baked To Perfection is her passion and her family particularly her aunt in France was a great baker, with her parents off touring in a campervan now into their retirement and her son back at home after being away at university and questioning about his father, she finds herself thinking back to her first love André from when she was eighteen and in France at her aunt's with Faye her life long best friend when they were eighteen.

Liv worries about Faye as she drinks a lot and is always out at gigs looking for a fun time, as her friend regales them with tales of Harold and her matchmaking attempts, in France Faye finds a fun time with Olivier a bakery helper to Liv's aunt and she
herself finds André from pure chance and as the pair get reacquainted she has to decide how to approach the subject of his son.

Jake also hides a few secrets from his mum which when he shows up in Spain unexpectedly come out about the truth behind his future plans...

The book started off on an hilarious note about a cake being made as a toilet and who isn't going to be drawn in by that sentence! I loved the journey to France and discovering the whole chemistry over the history with Andre and couldn't put it down I liked the pace of the book and the characters where super relatable as I'm sure in real life people have been in this position before!

The Rules Of Seeing by Joe Heap

Kate is married to Tony an abusive man who leads her to meet Nova in the hospital.

Nova has just had an operation to give her some restored sight after being born blind and finally she can see, she has to learn to live all over again hence the Rules of Seeing that she creates and also with the help of Kate as they meet up again months later...

Throughout the book we see how Nova saves Kate and Kate saves Nova from abusive Tony stalking them and her harsh mother vanishing her Nova becomes Kate's lifeline and Nova finds with Kate she can navigate new and exciting things from learning colours, shapes, seek the sky, Paris and people this couple become a proper pair got to like a jigsaw in love as they become one despite all the efforts Tony goes to as he progressively becomes more psycho from stalking them to the thrilling ending which took me by such surprise I got goosebumps reading it.

This book was captivating and I honestly loved the characters, concept and the thriller element in this book!

I liked the fact that Kate seems to be bisexual as she leaves Tony for Nova but of course we don't ever need to label sexuality I liked the fact that Nova was A bubbly character as Kate was more serious they really balanced each other out and the fact the book was set in months over years shows how their connection grew more and more especially as we read from split character perspectives.

A must read book of 2019!

The Northern Lights Lodge by Julie Caplin

When Lucy leaves Bath and moves to Iceland to run the Northern Lights Lodge she meets Alex a Scot from Paris who's secretly there not as a bartender but to see for his friend if the hotel is worth buying.

Whilst the pair grow close and have many moments they are also faced with a whole TV crew films by an off the wall hotel documentary only one of the guys soon remembers Lucy...

As Lucy tries to hide a viral video from her old hotel job with slimy boring ex Chris unlike the electric chemistry she has with Alex.

Dealing with a hotel sabotage from inside, new management and Lucy getting kicked out her job shockingly thanks to Alex she winds up back home to best friend Daisy only for the new hotel manager wanting to meet her in Edinburgh and just what happened to Alex as he disappeared...

Wow. Making life changing decisions and finding not just a gorgeous sight as the country she winds up in but in her new man too Lucy gets it all but not without a harsh time over her secret which amped up the underlying tension throughout the book. With video drama and job unease there's still plenty of heart stopping moments in a good way not just had and everyone will enjoy this read as I've read nothing like it.

The Little Bookshop At Herring Cove by Kellie Hailes

Set in Herring Cove, Sophie runs a bookshop living above where her parents used to. Her best friends Ginny and Natalie also live close by in this little seaside community.

Alexander turns up from a building company set to take over under orders from his dad. However he tries to help out Sophie after learning of her debts and later her parents deaths. As he gets to work building shelves for her the pair come to grow close talking about their lives and for Alex his love of building work his parents blatantly disapprove of.

However as Sophie refuses to leave and Alex helps her and gets to know the locals even though Natalie has agreed to sell and move for a better life he realises there's a way he could help preserve their community in its natural style and so he tries to persuade his father but after Sophie realises he knows about her money woes after she confided only about her ex boyfriend though.

As Alex heads back to London and Sophie too is left heartbroken the pair must find their way to come back together again and for the good of Herring Cove and its future without a resort destroying the natural beauty there the pair must fight his parents to achieve their mutual dream...

I was engrossed in this book and read it in one  evening I was so gripped in the plot and not just because of the handsome Alex who sweeps Sophie off her feet eventually! The drama was always related to the plot developing and it did so at a steady pace instead of rushing to the point and then seeing the repercussions where as we could've seen a very different story play out indeed. It was warm, romantic and had some moments you wishes you loved there too! The ending was beautiful but you'll have to read it for yourself to find out why!

Probably The Best Kiss In The World by Pernille Hughes

Jen loves her home brewery whilst by day she helps to sell incontinence pads which are eco-friendly and the company is ran by her future sister in law's.

When her sister Lydia suggests she will have FOMO Jen waves it off as she and fiancé Robert stick to certain days for dates so they know what to expect. It's their routine and spontaneity doesn't exist.

Lydia her sister has a prosthetic leg after being in the accident which killed their parents and left Jen to be her form of mother in place of the loss of theirs.

Jen however gets engaged to Rupert and before she knows what's happening is whisked away to Copenhagen on her hen party with her sister and best friends by her side and she literally falls for Yakob.

Yakob also appreciates beer as Jen tells him all about her being a local award winner at home with her craft beer and how she loves making it, he encourages her unlike so called love Rupert who doesn't!

As the book goes on we hope Jen finally breaks it off with Rupert as his family smothers her in the future and tries to get her to stop brewing unlike Yakob whom her friends and sister repeatedly try to show her how much better off she is with him around, for one she's not glued to her planning on her phone all the time after they meet!

Throughout the book we see how the girls relationship is pressured by the fact that Jen always tries to keep her away from danger and doesn't always take into account the fact that Lydia has grown up and is independent even sneaking off to partake in adrenaline junkie sports events which get news articles written about her! Which makes more drama in the novel, it was also refreshing and overdue to have a character with a disability like Lyidi has being without her leg as I can't recall ever reading about a character with that before.

Hilarious and serious this is a beer friendly read as we see Jen develop and grow with the help of her friends and family as the story goes on. It was as Jen would say, Beerilliant!

As the village just about recovers from Clancy arriving, there's shock in store when Alice the wanderer returns different than ever and with a shocking surprise in store too...

Dealing with jealous ex Genevieve Clancy has to face the future, London, Nelsons Bar and leaving Aaron for somewhere new altogether maybe?

This is another great book from Sue and I like the fact we don't focus on a newly married or jilted in this case couple as instead we get from the friends who hooked up point of view reminding me of FRIENDS the TV show! Clancy is a great caring character in complete contrast to Alice as she is a wanderer not caring at all and the least seeming character to get married they made a great contrast in this book. If you like a chilled read about a small community near the sea chill out in the sun, this is the one for you!

One Summer In Italy by Sue Moorcroft

After her father, Aldo passes away, Sofia keeps the promise she made to him to go back to their homeland of Italy he'd abandoned years ago in order to marry his wife Dawn until she was taken when Sofia was five in a car accident. He'd left his parents and brother Gianni behind fleeing his old life.

Working at Casa Felice, Sofia meets and sticks up for Amy a young waitress when trouble starts with the boss's son and nearly gets her fired. It's also then that she meets Levi for the first time.

Amy's story of how she wound up in Italy is due to learning about her true father and as she crosses paths with Levi, Sofia keeps an eye on her worried about his intentions towards the young girl until she uncovers a huge secret he holds.

As their lives cross paths during the novel and spiralling events from being fired to re hired and Sofia finally meeting her remaining family members living in Italy to Amy taking charge of discovering her father herself and flying to England on a whim of fronting out why he didn't want to see her, many shocks occur and the drama is constant!

This was a thrilling read! I truly loved and was hooked on the story as so much happened as well as taking it all in I felt transported to Italy myself! I loved how Sofia was a motherly figure there for Amy and despite being vulnerable, Amy was very strong willed and brave in her actions. Levi was in a situation with a stalker too and so I felt sorry for him as he had so much happening he needed to take care of. You won't be disappointed in this book if you're a fan of Trisha Ashley or Heidi Swain especially.

Only over time and him not getting anywhere career wise, Lottie getting promoted in her crematorium gardening job, Harvey becoming more controlling and emotionally draining her Lottie decides to take her life back after talking to a stranger who knew the situation too.

Evie her sister is trying to foster after parting from husband Darren after their lengthy struggle to get pregnant and the stress it put on their relationship.

Meanwhile their dad has gone off travelling the world as to fulfil his wife's dream they shared of retirement travelling only that doesn't go to plan...

As Lottie finds herself at a vineyard by chance to work and build her life back up, she makes new friends, learns new skills and meets the handsome Jensen, the grandson of her new boss whom looks out for her as if she were family...

As Lottie faces a tough choice after finding out a shocking life change and with her ex looming over her and Jensen caring for her closely just what's her happy ending to be?

This book made me smile lots and taught me a lot about wine making too! The story has very serious topics from illness, pregnancy, death, grief, infertility and abuse but if course we see how her life changes from making tough decisions. It's a great summer read for sure and you'll love Lottie and root for her as I did!

We Were On A Break by Lindsey Kelk

Liv and Adam have been on holiday to Mexico only for Adam to not propose while away causing a tense flight home and agreement on taking a break to happen instead.

Cassie, Liv's friend as well as David whom she works with at the veterinary surgery all agree that maybe it's for the best. Cass is actually married to Adam's brother and got married and had a baby in a year which doesn't help Adam or Liv to think about.

Despite him going round to Liv's to try and win her back, two days later he's seen by her kissing Jane as they say goodbye which makes Liv look on Tinder and answer a message from Henry feeling less guilty about the situation now Adam's moving on, only he still wants her back but is forced to wait as she goes on holiday to Japan.

Just wait for her return...

Ooh how my much can they back and forth about being on a break! I though it was a constant roundabout of sadness on Adam's front over his guilt at not proposing while Liv seemed unsure what to make of anything occurring apart from thinking he's moved on! It was okay, purpose full to the classic Friends style on a break or not relationship but the same drama on repeat.

The Cottage On Sunshine Beach by Holly Martin

Melody and Jamie are friends and also have young puppies whom are brothers they walk together. Melody has had a lot to deal with age losing her brother and so moving to by the sea so she can be closer to her sister and nephew. Tori her best friend also moved from London and now works on Jamie's brother's fruit farm. Melody is a jewellery designer and also hopes for her mother's approval after years of never getting it or any praise for her achievements.

Jamie's friend Klaus a fellow sand sculptor, helps him realise how he feels about Melody after she asks him round for dinner.

Melody and Jamie embark on a friendship just dating situation and winds up in a few hilarious situations and many emotional times happen too and some super sweet romantic times as the couple come to realise what they truly feel for each other.

The book was so good just like Holly Martin's other great books this one made the areas sound so picturesque with the names of the areas. I loved the puppies in the book being named after film characters and Agatha an older lady who knows all the best spots for a bit of outdoor fun, if you get my drift! Holly will make you laugh, cry and smile like crazy with every book she writes without fail!
