Did I mention I Miss You? By Estelle Maskame

After Tyler left Eden alone, we finally see how Eden has been after a year without him in her life as she relied on Rachael and her mum support to help her heal. Though it soon becomes apparent that she's now seriously angry at Tyler. A huge contrast to the calm character Tyler shockingly returns as and of course, Eden doesn't take his return easily and hits out, literally.

As Ella tries to get their family talking properly they all end up forced on holiday together where things stay the same despite Tyler being the bigger man to Eden's dad.

After more tension and words fired getting them nowhere, Tyler and Eden head back to Portland together where Tyler shows her the work he's done and is doing to change his and others lives which is simply put, astounding and humbling compared to his old character.

As the couple look set to be together though they must return home to try and patch up their family because surely they can't hate them forever, their friends acceptance eventually proved that, hopefully?

This was such an ending to the main trilogy! I didn't expect Tyler to start a ne  life in Portland of all places but it proves he wanted to understand Eden and her past better and share in what she knew. It was nice to learn of Tyler's normal job and humbling charity start up as not many young guys would think of doing something like that a majority of the time and it shows how Tyler wanted to better guy for Eden.

Did I Mention I Need You? By Estelle Maskame

Tyler is in New York thanks to his mum helping him heal himself after the abuse he suffered for years at the hands of his father. Eden travels to stay with him despite being in a relationship now with Dean but not in love with Dean sadly as she is still in love with Tyler, her stepbrother.

But as she moves in with Tyler, their relationship rekindles whilst they deal with Snake and Emily whose British and a new lodger in the apartment. They also face their friends and enemies joining them and threatening their happiness as they finally reveal their relationship to their loved ones to shock, acceptance and hatred as they deal with the guilt and hurt, only separately after a shock twist ending.

This book was like an episode of Gossip Girl full of drama, backstabbing, manipulation and lies. Relationships get torn apart and friendships seem uncertain as their relationship implodes their group around them. There's sweet moments though in New York involving dates, tattoo's in their natural relationship language they use which is Spanish. All in all they realise they actually don't want to and can't be apart anymore even though it will tear their families apart...

Eden is spending the summer in LA to meet her father's new wife and her three son's, now Eden's stepbrothers. Chase is six, Jake is fourteen and Tyler seventeen, a year older than Eden and a live wire to put it lightly. He is the typical bad boy and takes drugs, smokes joints and drinks till he's paralytic.

Eden and Tyler can't stand each other yet forced together during her stay, the pair soon run in the same crowd as Eden makes friends with Rachael who's friends with Meghan and Tiffani, Tyler's irritating, controlling girlfriend.

Eden stays out late, drinks at parties and finds herself getting guys attention that she never expected only it's Tyler whom she suddenly falls for and after finding out his hard past to do with his dad, contending with Tiffani and managing their growing feelings, this family secret looks set to explode eventually...

This is a drama filled book about love, lust and forbidden love overall. However it features so much more and hits on so many huge issues that can effect teens from child abuse, pregnancy, drinking under age, college stress, friendship issues and drugs.

It was a fun and charged read with typical teenage characters but each so varied in personality it was extremely drama filled!

The Black Flamingo by Dean Atta

Michael is a gay guy and he's known he was since he was a child and wanted to be friends with girls and play with Barbies.

However as he grows up, he faces bullying, first crushes, finding his best friend Daisy and how she too comes to terms with her sexuality and also heading off to university and discovering drag blossoming into his true self.

A bold fabulous story about becoming the real you despite the bumps along the road this was a powerful novel told in verse and a moving unique story.

Wilde Like Me by Louise Pentland

Alike her own life, Louise is very similar to Robin, her main character whom had a six year old daughter, Lyla Blue alike real life daughter, Darcy.

Robin deals with excelling in her career whilst trying to fit in with the school run mum's and fighting off the consuming loneliness which starts to hit her at times. Despite brushes with possible love in the form of Theo an English business man, it's a job in New York which lands her a beautiful future with new friends, a possible boyfriend and a dream career whilst also having the support of her aunt as well as her friend Lacey and her sharing many times together as Lacey fights to finally get pregnant as she so desires what  Robin has with Lyla.

Showing points about loneliness, dating and single parenting, it's honest and raw with emotional issues and the up's and down's of life mostly alone even if you have a young child or pet's at home and friends and family to call, the issues are all relatable and everyone who reads the book will feel for the characters I'm certain. It was an emotional ride but a lot of fun too with trips to New York and artist work with dates thrown into the mix too!

Playgroups And Prosecco by Jo Middleton

In this fun debut all about handling motherhood day by day through insightful diary entries from single mum, Frankie we see how she handles her teenage daughter Flo, lively three year old Jess and the tasks of playgroup, mother group meetings with her friends Louise and Sierra as well as the trials and tribulations of giving online dating a go, disasters and demands a plenty on the men's part!

She has to contend with useless ex Can getting in touch out of the blue, finding a job which fits around childcare but suits her too and fixing her friendship with Jess's dad her best friend after they ended their marriage mutually.

This book had some hilarious moments which were unbelievable but also down to earth moments which were truthful as I too as a kid did some of the play activities Jess does from soft play, learning to swim and the joys of Barbie and Lego playing too. The mum's were a cool group do I their best and Frankie was a realistic mum, they all have a biscuit habit and love wine, to me they do anyway!

The Comeback Season by Jennifer E. Smith

Ryan meets Nick at a baseball game on the fifth anniversary of her father's death. On the same day her mum and Kevin her step dad announced they are pregnant much to the joy of her little sister. Meanwhile, Nick and Ryan work together on a maths project whilst they hang out so much they don't go to the school dance together but Ryan does get a shock when Nick reveals he has and has had osteosarcoma tumors which is why he keeps having his arm break.

After getting over the shock, a silly mind bet and blaming herself for unforeseeable issues that rock the couple, Ryan and Nick sure have an eventful life together.

A really baseball heavy book but with a good The Fault In Our Stars only not as sad or dramatic edge that made me find the characters stories working really well.

Hello Life! by Marcus Butler

Marcus is a very popular Youtuber I have followed for years now but have only just picked up his book he wrote a while ago now.

Marcus tells us of his fitness journey, and dating escapades before enlightening us into his past school days when he went through a phase of being a troublemaker before settling into better friendships.

We could see how much he cares about his family and friends as he tells us of his Nan's death and being a shoulder to cry on for his sisters and mum during the time as well as doing all he could to support his friend as she went through her anorexia battle in and out of hospital for treatment.

Overall Marcus shows us all through his life up to now and proves what a great role model he is now to his young fans.

Trouble by Non Pratt

Fifteen year old Hannah has gotten herself into a terrible situation. Not only is she underage to legally have sex, she finds herself pregnant and by a boy who should be unobtainable to her. She confides in her gran about the situation who is super supportive even as Hannah's cool crowd abandons her including best mate Katie whom was her main drinking buddy.

Hannah then meets Aaron, the new boy with a dark secret about his past whom is the son of the school's new teacher. She makes a great friend in Aaron who voluntarily offers himself as a stand in father for her unborn baby and supports Hannah through the rubbish she gets at school, as she breaks the news to her family about just whom the real father is and becomes her best friend and maybe more...

This book is great for breaking many barriers about underage pregnancy, sex with the wrong person and death and it's many after effects. This books was very honest about the struggles of friendship issues and fake friendships too with the way that Katie turns against Hannah, joins the popular crowd who then turn against her like she did to Hannah, showing karma gets you in the end as often said!

I really loved this book and it's lived up to it's title about there being trouble!

A Quiet Kind Of Thunder by Sara Barnard

Stefanie, or Steffi is a girl whom suffers with anxiety, introversion and selective mutism in her first year of sixth form. We know she likes to read and keep to herself from the start and is seen as invisible by other pupils until she is paired up with new student Rhys, who is deaf but Steffi and Rhys can communicate by sign language and feel comfortable in each other's company unlike the the other student's who haven't been able to really connect with Steffi at all apart from Tem.

Steffi's best friend September or Tem, who is a passionate runner and has grown up like a sister to Steffi as their lives have been interwoven by Steffi's mum helping Tem's family live safely from a refugee crisis center.

Over the course of the novel, we see the challenges sufferers of both conditions face day to day. We also see parental concern over Steffi wanting to go to university to study whilst her mum worries she won't talk to anyone and end up in a more anxious state. There is also the fact that her step brother died and he went off to university meaning he didn't see much of them at times and her dad and Lucy, his new wife missed out on some extra time with him.

The novel was super cute but also very realistic to teenage dating whether it be between Tem and Karam being one sensible, set on a path of dedicated education and one up for a party whilst pondering their future career still. Or, the situation between Steffi and Rhys, especially when want to prove to their families they can go away together on holiday safely which causes lots of concern's and conflict.

Overall, I think Steffi and Rhys are great! They gel throughout everything they go through even the few disagreements can't break these two but they do need to learn they're not burdens to each other as they each believe! We see how they both actually save each other towards the final part of the book and it was done heart stoppingly well, prepare yourselves!
