I Laughed So Nobody Asked by T.Euke
This collection focuses on the quiet ones, the people that can be perceived as loud, happy etc but deep inside likes the quiet, the fragile truth masked, alike the cover of the collection was clever in showing with the use of the removed mask laid down.
Talking of how depression isn't just visible crying and sadness and the way we pretend too often rather than being open and hoenst with struggles for fear of judgement, the way we can easily serve up compassion for others but not ourselves, instead often speaking harshly to our own self and the way depression takes small moment's and makes you feel like they're forecasts of the future, happy or sad and how frightening and daunting it can be to be honest and answer that deeply, you're not ok, how the mirror can feel like a liar when you look and see nothing special unlike how others see you and celebrate you easily and how depression can move in and swallow up space where things you loved and enjoyed and found joy in get taken away.
I particularly enjoyed the final note reaching out to anyone relating to the collection in the words shared and honestly as a retail worker and someone who has experienced using antidepressants, I always look at everyone I encounter in daily life with kindness and compassion because it is so true that we don't know what each other cannot bring themselves to say aloud and is dealing with quietly.
