I Sit Here and Hide: Poems of Silence, Survival and the Inner Room by Linda Odelmar

This opening poetry collection is book one in a new series and this was such a clever collection using the metaphor of a home, rooms and how alike our houses are to our body being our own personal house. Some stand out poems to me of this collection were: Repaint, how we decorate our houses with art alike our bodies craving to make them more perceivably beautiful. Everyday pulse, about how the morning rush around a house to get ready can feel like the house itself is alive and breathing with you. On The Way, was a great poem about how everything that happens in life how it has meaning for us and all is survival shaping us in the end. New Wings, about letting out the hurt and emotions from grey to colour again alike butterflies Uncut Diamond, was a beautiful poem about the perspective of us we never experience; through someone else's eyes and their opinion of us that we don't know, wealth in some way is how we are seen by others in character not literal monetary value. A fantastic collection to see a broader vision and other versions of ourselves from others interpretations.
