Max and his little sister Emmeline love their dog Cosmo as their parents fight and make home life unpleasant for the pair Cosmo offers up his view of the situation throughout the book as it's remarkably told from his doggie perspective.
Max has a lot of anxiety and Cosmo dotes on him the pair are a true duo especially as they hope to enter a dance competition and win the chance to be in a film which Max hopes will save their family.
However Cosmo is an old dog and suffers with arthritis and general old age dog issues and as the book goes on things decline in all ways before getting better for the future ahead...
This book shows how special a pet is to kids, families as a whole and how sensitive and aware an animal they truly are and just how caring they can be too. Prepare yourself to read a heart warming but tear inducing read!

The Shelter Puppy by Holly Webb
Caitlin and her brother Aidan go to see a shelter full of cats and dogs in this book as Caitlin has to do a school project for a charity which she chooses the animal shelter.
It's there she meets Winston a whippet she falls in love with only when a school friend looks set to adopt him even her birthday can't cheer her up it seems...
A great story once again about saving animals and loving/caring for them too. Caitlin is a relatable character who cares so much in her actions inspired by the school project a heart warming read.

My Dog Daisy by Jean Ure
Lily really wants a dog so when she meets elderly Charlotte and her dog Fred in the park and Charlotte offers to share him it's a perfect match despite Fred being an elderly dog.
However when Fred becomes unwell, her friends Robbie and Keri help her rehome Daisy a dog in need and maybe Lily and Charlotte won't be left pet less after all...
A great read about family, friendship between any ages and a love of animals and pets Fred and Daisy showed the difference between dog's characters as they age but still how much they love their spring owners. Lily wanting a dog is just like I was wanting a rabbit and her character was so relatable that way!

The Girl Who Thought She Was A Dog by Clare Balding
When baby Fennel is brought home, Twiglet the boxer becomes her guardian protecting her as she grows up and the pair become inseparable to the point that Fennel acts more like a boxer than a baby, then a girl as she has to try and act more human to fit in at school, she decides to enter Crufts at the NEC and prove to everyone that Twiglet is as amazing as she see's him to be!
This was a fun original idea and made a great quick read I wish it was a proper full length adventure involving the pair and showed how their futures play out after the brilliant ending.

Lucky Dogs by Cody Clark
Juliet and Ruby are best dog friends so when Wiley arrives new in Dogwood he hopes to make friends with the residents in Dogwood but will they all accept him?
A great little book to show children how to be compassionate and accepting of others as well as showing some great artwork of the dog characters too which will bring the story to life for the readers.
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

Sit Stay Love by J J Howard
In this book we meet Cecelia whom is having a rough time, after her house gets condemned after a fire she finds herself and her dad moving in with her aunt Pam.
Meanwhile she adores dogs and dreams of owning one of her own and the sooner the better for her however as she works voluntarily at an adoption centre for dogs, she falls in love with a pug she calls Potato.
However as she finds a friend in Lily at school, she discovers Lilys brother Eric wants to adopt Potato into their family's show dog brood!
Can she get her dream dog before he's snatched away from her for good?
Another cute pug related love story that was a bit more serious than the previous one as Potato looks set to be forced into a life just for the stage and performing, not going to a solely loving and fun caring home like Cecelia would provide. I found myself wishing for Cecelia to get to keep him and not let her fall for Eric but alas the inevitable happens after a twist in the tale!

The Cozy Canal Boat Dream by Christie Barlow
Moored up at the Little Rock Marina, Nell Andrew's has her canal boat, Nollie. After losing her college sweetheart in a tragic accident, she has her mum and best friend Bea around to support her and then two years on, Irish man, Guy Cornish shows up at the marina, his dog Sam sweeps Nell off her feet and soon she's falling hard for Guy...
However, when Bea falls pregnant her deli where they work gets nominated for an award just as Nell takes on restoring the Old Picture House in honour of Ollie's memory with the assistance of Guy and it's all ago but will things go smoothly or can problems arise at the worst time?
This book was a really sweet read and I loved it, perfect for a winter or autumnal read especially! The characters were so sweet and open in supporting each other no matter what came along in their way which is refreshing to read. I also really enjoyed when Guy met Nell initially with a hilarious scene taking place. If you enjoyed The Canal Boat Café by Cressida McLaughlin you will love this canal adventure too.
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

Truly Madly Awkward by Beth Garrod
Bella is back! Along with Tegan and Rach of course as the girls are excited about a competition to win their favourite band The Helicans to come and play a concert at their school. However, there's many stages and other schools to compete against as the radio station prolongs the process over a number of rounds per week.
Fit Adam and Bella go on a date that turns out to be just a friend date, much to Bella's disappointment, naturally.
Meanwhile Tegan is acting strangely with more and more gymnastics practise along with a strange Jaden Smith lookalike hanging around her a lot too...
As well as the boy drama, concert excite in their school goes crazy as Bella becomes a mini celeb all the students are rooting for and their headmistress too as she wins their way through the rounds of the competition by luck and effort alone. Bella also has to deal with her mother launching her new dog ice cream shop, Give A Dog A Cone! Let alone a new lodger taking up residence in their home in the form of, Shay a so called high flying TV producer.
There's tons of drama from Bella's ex Luke or Puke as she prefers to call him! As he's now dating so called model Ska, but there's more than meets the eye with the shifty pair.
As per usual, Bella promises hilarity and a side stitch from laughing so much as you read!
This is a super fun book and the second part in Bella's series so far and I totally can't wait for more as Bella and Adam may finally get to where they both secretly want them to be at!

Rules Of The Ruff by Heidi Lang
Jessie is staying with her aunt, uncle and cousin Ann where she's left out and bored. she does make a friend in soccer playing Max but they get off to a rough start as he assumes she's a bit for a start!
she has always wanted her own dog but after her mum passed away, never again touched the subject with her father.
When she meets local dog walker Wes, she manages to convince him to let her be his apprentice and she has to learn his rules of the ruff, all about dog walking, handling and getting used to them all.
Then they discover a new dog walker is taking clients they had from them! The woman she is shocked to find out knows Max and that makes it so much worse as the walk wars is on. Meanwhile Ann's friend Loralee is stealing Max away just like she stole Ann from her and Jessie is out for revenge with Wes against their dog walker stealing newcomer.
Wes also has to deal with his relationship with his ex wife and dog owners which come to involve Jessie too when their plan to sabotage Monique the other dog walker goes a bit extreme and finds out Ann hasn't completely changed as she helps her against Max and Loralee.
The responsibilities of pet ownership come as a welcome theme as many believe pets are easy to keep and look after but none are and children can learn that with this book as well as the way friendship has no barrier, age or gender wise. I really love the book and if you know a child who is dog mad, they would enjoy this one I'm sure.
