This book was fantastic, with illustrations of multiple body types, height, size, colour, interest's and style etc it was fab to read and a book any young person should be given to help them realise and recognise change will happen and to be ready to start the journey to loving the body they have and appreciate all it can do for you too. I just wish it had been around for when I was going through puberty it's a positive book for self love and body acceptance!
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

I Hope My Voice Doesn't Skip by Alicia Cook
As a new poet to me, I really enjoyed this collection of work. I knew basics around the themes including mental health, death, beauty, acceptance, love and more.
The layout, part as poetry, black and white then switching to vinyl format of a tracklist followed by more emotional song lyrics.
For me, these subjects are relatable and drew me more into the power of Alicia's poetry. They start off as basic observations that become a mostly saddening reality which bred these beautiful, moving poems.
Each situation was imaginable and immersed me into a world through the art of Alicia's words, truly moving, captivating and inspiring.

Hole In The Middle by Kendra Fortmeyer
Morgan is slim, with a hole in her abdomen, her best friend and cheerleader for body positivity Caro her roommate who is always encouraging her to go out and live her life instead of hiding away.
She revealed herself publicly in a club, Mansion by dancing in crop tops. Only to discover she's become an internet sensation and is being talked about nonstop.
As she later gets approached by another surgeon she struggles trust whom is in charge of a boy and his case of deformity as he has a lump growing which correctly fits Morgan's hole, a strange coincidence but they set about trying an experiment with their separate DNA giving each other a bit of theirs to try and 'fix' themselves. Only with the press hounding them and feeling out of control of their bodies, they try to break free for a while to get a break and time together.
A story about the pressures of news and wanting to be normal and to fit in and not be the but of sick jokes of ridiculed online. It was an unheard of health issue and never read about before in YA fiction so I really enjoyed learning about it as I read, it was eye opening and very realistic with all the medical talk and trying to help solve it.

The Skincare Bible by Dr Anjali Mahto
Firstly, this book has a great simple yet unique stand out cover to me with the gold on pink girly vibe really drawing my eyes to it.
Being someone whom has tried a cleanse, tone, moisturize way of life everyday mixed up at times with a swipe of cotton pads with micellar water on or a hasty face wipe if not a flannel and water over my face for years now, this book really has opened my eyes to how much is involved in skin and caring properly for it.
After all, skin is our largest organ essentially and goes through a lot everyday and not just enduring cuts and bruises when they happen as we're reminded in this book, our skin constantly grows, changes and needs caring for.
With plenty of amazing scientific facts about skin and detailed diagrams to show us our skin's make up, we learn about skin types, colours and their differences and what each requires for optimum health. There's concise guides for what skin types prefer what products or just how pampering yourself can pay off for mental and physical health and happiness.
I liked how the author shared their on experiences of skin troubles such as acne and throughout the book talked about the mental health effects skin issues can bring be it acne, aging or stretch marks etc loads of us have the same common issues and need to stop judging others around us or worry what they think of us we are all doing our best but we can of course use the right products and have a healthy diet to help too!
We may take skin for granted but it's certainly been waiting for a book on the market to draw us to finding out what we should do for it sooner rather than later. I liked how the book is like a friend, there to guide, non judging where we may have gone wrong before but is comforting and busts the myths behind beauty industry jargon surrounding skin care.

Body Positive Power by Megan Jayne Crabbe AKA Bodyposipanda
Megan is a girl with a huge following on Instagram where she posts and promotes body positivity which has resulted in this book coming to life.
As a young girl Megan suffered with anorexia and body image issues which she goes into in detail in the book. She shares her tips on body love and how to change your mentality by looking into the history of bodies and attitudes towards them.
She teaches us to challenge our mind set and dare ourselves to embrace who we are despite anything we may deem as imperfect.
This is a truly needed and helpful book for anyone ever affected by the power of their mind vs their body.
