I liked that there was Isla made to be alike A princess in contrast to Demi being like a pauper on the street. Mawgan and her family not realising her sister is gay and also had a girlfriend in Robyn shows just how blind she was to her family and how cold to them too being a businesswomen first and foremost! The characters worked well together and the drama flowed easily each scene and chapter had so much detail I love Phillipa's writing!

The Cornish Cream Tea Summer Part 1 All You Knead Is Love by Cressida McLaughlin

Lila is Charlie's cousin who surprises her by turning up out of the blue after a disaster in London with her best friend and job.

It safe to say drama follows Lila as an opportunity for the Cream Tea Bus to work with a BBC production arises and Lila is eager practically signing them up before asking Charlie properly!up

As Lila gets to grips working the bus, brushing shoulders with tv stars and many guys Lila wonders of maybe Cornwall can serve her life well like it has leading Charlie to Daniel and then they drop a huge bombshell on her, can she cope?

This series is one of my favourite ever discoveries and seeing Lila arrive and enjoy the area, uniqueness of the bus and the chance to be part of a filming set is great fun to read. If you enjoy Cornwall, food or baking and love stories this is a book for you a magical read I wish I could wander into myself and live in!

The Cornish Cream Tea Bus by Cressida McLaughlin

After breaking up with her boyfriend Stuart and her beloved uncle, her best friend Juliette comes back from Cornwall where she lives and alongside Charlie's dad and boss try to get her to take a break and have a holiday as she throws herself instantly  into making Gertie a success and have her uncle Hal be proud of her for keeping the bus going now he's gone.

After a first disaster, she and her dog Marmite end up in Portgollow where Juliette lives. The area is a bit ran down and in need of revival, however there's the matter of Crystal Waters, a high end spa ran by Daniel.

Not everyone is welcoming to Charlie, Marmite and Gertie but can they change their minds?

Charlie and Marmite her yorkiepoo are setting up the Portgollow food festival to help raise the areas profile and make their businesses a success as she runs her Cornish Cream Tea Bus.

As she reunites with Oliver from The Marauding Mojito, Daniel invites her to the spa after her opens up about helping and failing to give her friend a job.

So on enough she has a choice to make and to address her feelings, safe Oliver but sexy and risky choice Daniel, who'll she realise her feelings for?

Charlie has to confront her true feelings for Oliver and Daniel especially when it seems one might have a wandering eye and not been honest with her alike she with them but only worse...

We also see how she plans to tour her bus around now and begins to trial her plans too!

In the final part of Charlie's story, we see how she discovers who sabotaged her bus stopping her trading which was of no surprise to me who'd done it, the clues are there all along...

However the whole village comes together to make it better including with regular food festival's!

But will she and Daniel finally sort out their feelings?

I have truly loved this book. Once again Cressida has written a remarkable story with characters that I wish really existed as this bus sounds amazing and I would love to support it!
I love the idea of keeping and using a vintage bus as a cafe it's absolute genius and I wish it existed. Even early on the chemistry is building between her and Daniel and the Cornish village life looks set to get vibrant, I was hooked on this book Cressida just keeps writing thrilling entrancing books you need to read!

Christmas At The Cornish Café by Phillipa Ashley

As Demelza the café is approaching it's opening, now it's October after the summer since starting the series off, everyone pulls together to make it work.

When Kit reveals a shocking surprise to Cal after he sees him with Mawgan their lives all change at this revelation.

Physical and emotional battles get revealed for Cal he finally confides in Demi a huge secret while Demi has a shock turn around with her dad and their relationship.

There is a sentence at the end of the book about Christmas not being perfect and how we shouldn't expect it to be. I have to say not only is it true anyway but definitely in my family as we always lose members at Christmas and sadly my beloved auntie passed on the 21st the same day my grandma passed a year before I was born unfortunately. In this book Phillipa makes it a very emotional ride with family at the heart throughout. With all the issues arising for the extra cast of characters we can't help but get hooked on the storyline it draws us in and makes us appreciate the family and friends we have and can share the joys of Christmas with.

The Eclair Affair Cornish Cream Tea Bus Part 2 by Cressida McLaughlin

I love this story and read it in one sitting as soon as it was available I was that excited! The chemistry between the characters is building nicely and the business is helping the area slowly but hopefully surely, the book is light and fun romance which is as sweet as the cream tea's and eclairs I'm imagining being served on board!

Christmas On The Little Cornish Isles The Driftwood Inn by Phillipa Ashley

Maisie has just returned home to her parents where she finds Australian Patrick in need of a job and her family's business having a lucky vacancy for this charming man who just may provide Maisie with some of the happiness she's dreamed of for years...

Yet, she has smarmy Hugo to contend with as well as her best friend losing a pregnancy and her father collapsing suddenly there's no shortage of down's this Christmas so far so hopefully when Patrick finally realises how he feels and acts on it, him surprising her at a bad time helps her to see not everything is a tragedy this Christmas time after all.

It was a really great book, the characters have heart and deeply care about each other. It was a heartwarming read and very realistic to me as we always have bad stuff happen too at Christmas unfortunately but it made me love this book more knowing we aren't alone there! It was a great book and I recommend you to read this one, it may not be festive season yet but Cornwall is great all year round!

A Perfect Cornish Summer by Phillipa Ashley

Sam loves her costal home town and has done all the years living and get owing up there until her mum passed and Gabe her boyfriend at the time gave her brother in to the police. She had at to bring up her sister without their brother and still misses him.

Chloe is Sam's festival committee friend, mixed race and hiding a secret about not only her big age coming up but the fact she actually has a family but can she find her happy ever after in Porthmellow? As well as help her daughter be happy and reunited with her again as well as possibly meet her granddaughter too?

Gabe arrives from London now a famous chef to step in and help out at their food festival after their headline act is unable to fulfil his duties and so tensions rise between him and Sam as Chloe didn't know their history before asking him down to help out queue rising tensions, pulses and growing sparks flying!

As we read, we see from the characters split perspectives and what they have to face in the story. With drama in every chapter both personal and festival kinds the tensions between characters build up and mount until a dramatic turn of events in the last  third of the book. The setting was a Cornish dream and the festival meticulously planned and hard work well done just like in their lives they work hard to later play hard as they do eventually have a positive celebration alike I hope Phillipa will done for creating another cracking chick lit!

Edie Browne's Cottage By The Sea by Jane Linfoot

Edie following her break up with Marcus partakes in a skydive which is followed up with a supposed unrelated stroke.

Recovery is hard and slow and so Edie sets off to stay with her aunt Jo in Cornwall as she can't drive or work and needs to relearn things from reading, writing, maths skills to even wanting to get her sense of taste back after that vanishes too!

Her arrival causes a stir with a handsome man next door, Barnaby catching her quite literally when she first arrives.

Between crafting classes with her ballet mad auntie Jo and renovating her house too as they need to sell to make money, she finds her career coming in handy as she helps her auntie alongside Barnaby and her new craft club friends to decorate the buildings out back in their yard to make into work accommodation and make them some much needed money.

Barnaby also creates Sheperd's huts and so she also helps him to decorate them and to sell them. Through her time in Cornwall she befriends Cam, whom Barnaby is the guardian of and the boy grows find of Edie as he does her...

She also gets Dustin a service dog to help her and he comes to her rescue and form a good bond together.

However with a potential sale of their house and her ex Marcus showing up too alongside all the drama the stroke left from fainting to learning everything a new agin, what does Edie's heart truly want?

Stay or leave Cornwall?

Go back to Marcus or maybe take a chance on Barnaby?

Edie was a rare character in women's fiction to come across, from being seriously ill and daring too she will leave a mark on you and make you grateful for your life. This book was a fun sweet read and the cakes you read about will have you wanting to get baking or buying too as well as the craft talk make you want to have a go too, it did for me anyway!

A Boy Called Ocean by Chris Higgins

Jen, Ellie, Macca and Kai are all supposed to be meeting at the beach and hanging out.

Kai wants to have a nice date with Jen at the beach front cafe where he plans to ask her to be his girlfriend. She doesn't know of the impending date but goes to meet him at the cafe only to learn he needs to work late now thanks to his boss.

Ellie persuades Jem to stay out with her and Macca and Jay on the beach but Kai sees and gets angry lashing out at customers and breaking cafe property which he then gets fired from and storms off, the grab Macca's surfboard and plunge into the sea...

As Jen stays out with Macca, Ellie reads the situation wrong assuming that Men fancies him now which upsets her deeply as she likes Macca.

The Jem discovers Kai isn't home, that's why he hasn't answered her calls or texts, no one knows where he is, so lifeboats are launched and a rescue operation over a underway to rescue him before it's too late...

As kai is stranded we learn of the domestic abuse his mother suffered and why they escaped to Cornwall, originally they loved Cornwall thanks to the stories she used to tell Kai about mermaids. His thoughts about Jen all keep him going while stranded at sea and when he sees a seal and realises it's not a dangerous shark, he feels comforted even if the seal can't help him.

He wants his future and holds onto his life as best he can while stranded out at sea. Jen, the girl he cares for so much is highly anxious and impatient awaiting news of him as lifeboats and helicopters get deployed and shows how a big scale rescue goes down whether fiction or real life it's awe inspiring the life saving work they do all year, all day round. There's also a final addition at the end of the book with Kai's mum talking about why she left Kai's father and her possible probable postnatal depression which caused her to rely on alcohol.

The issues around safety in the sea are issues which should be raised more in teens and children's fiction in my opinion but at least they are in this stunning book, much praise to Chris for this!

It was a gripping read that leaves your heart skipping beats in anticipation.
