The Secret Seaside Escape by Heidi Swain

Tess goes away to the Norfolk coast where she has good memories of her mum after making a shocking discovery at home about her parents.

Leaving her father's business in the lurch and switching off her phone she sets about helping the lovely locals, Sam, Hope and there she meets brother's Joe and Charlie.

However as she grows closer to them she finds out a huge life changing secret and her workaholic dad surprises her beyond belief...

The ending was phenomenal, a huge unexpected plot twist which made me gasp I was shocked and hooked on reading on about her family what a twist! A perfect read to distract through current times I was immersed in this wonderful world and the characters lives.

The Little Kiosk By The Sea by Jennifer Bohnet

Sabine runs the little kiosk for tickets for boat rides along which is facing being axed so she keeps up a petition to keep the kiosk open and asking everyone she can to sign it while her brother Johnnie works on the boats and finds out a huge life change when he visits his ex in France.

Owen,who works giving river trips likes Sabine and has asked her to marry him multiple times since her David his best mate died and left her and their son Peter.

Harriet, Sabine's friend has news to break to her daughter which could tear their family apart as her daughter turns thirty she loses her job and home so maybe the change will actually be positive...

A whole host of friends lives collide with secrets revealed and situations shared this little group by the river have more drama than a family does! It was gripping and so many perspectives told the story from the view of that specific character we could really feel the emotions they went through and get a tone for them. The writing was lovely and flowed super well I didn't tire of endless drama and instead was hooked to finish the book!

One Last Greek Summer by Mandy Baggot

Beth and best friend Heidi are off to Greece to have some fun in the sun, only when they get there they don't bank on the ceiling of their holiday home falling down in front of them!

Beth just doesn't expect to bump into old love Alex whilst there after divorcing her husband after he cheated on her with a work colleague.

Heidi is a lesbian as is hoping to find a summer going or more on the trip as well as encouraging Beth to move on from Charles.

Alex lives with his bossy mum but secretly keeps his DJ love going as his cousin Elektra also secretly works with him on setting up a business in health using kumquats to create their natural products.

As Charles Beth's ex husband arrives to try and win her back, Beth and Alex are happily looking to a future together after being apart for so long. Heidi has to win over Elektra after revealing her fake identity after discovering who Elektra is thanks to Beth and Alex. While Alex's mum must reveal the truth behind Alex's father and letting him become his own man, not controlled and unhappy anymore by her.

Being true to yourself is the heart of this novel, from love interest to sexuality and never giving up on dreams this is a perfect holiday read and reading this you'll wish you're on holiday and had your own Alex or Elektra to fall for!

Lila is Charlie's cousin who surprises her by turning up out of the blue after a disaster in London with her best friend and job.

It safe to say drama follows Lila as an opportunity for the Cream Tea Bus to work with a BBC production arises and Lila is eager practically signing them up before asking Charlie properly!up

As Lila gets to grips working the bus, brushing shoulders with tv stars and many guys Lila wonders of maybe Cornwall can serve her life well like it has leading Charlie to Daniel and then they drop a huge bombshell on her, can she cope?

This series is one of my favourite ever discoveries and seeing Lila arrive and enjoy the area, uniqueness of the bus and the chance to be part of a filming set is great fun to read. If you enjoy Cornwall, food or baking and love stories this is a book for you a magical read I wish I could wander into myself and live in!

One Summer In Italy by Sue Moorcroft

After her father, Aldo passes away, Sofia keeps the promise she made to him to go back to their homeland of Italy he'd abandoned years ago in order to marry his wife Dawn until she was taken when Sofia was five in a car accident. He'd left his parents and brother Gianni behind fleeing his old life.

Working at Casa Felice, Sofia meets and sticks up for Amy a young waitress when trouble starts with the boss's son and nearly gets her fired. It's also then that she meets Levi for the first time.

Amy's story of how she wound up in Italy is due to learning about her true father and as she crosses paths with Levi, Sofia keeps an eye on her worried about his intentions towards the young girl until she uncovers a huge secret he holds.

As their lives cross paths during the novel and spiralling events from being fired to re hired and Sofia finally meeting her remaining family members living in Italy to Amy taking charge of discovering her father herself and flying to England on a whim of fronting out why he didn't want to see her, many shocks occur and the drama is constant!

This was a thrilling read! I truly loved and was hooked on the story as so much happened as well as taking it all in I felt transported to Italy myself! I loved how Sofia was a motherly figure there for Amy and despite being vulnerable, Amy was very strong willed and brave in her actions. Levi was in a situation with a stalker too and so I felt sorry for him as he had so much happening he needed to take care of. You won't be disappointed in this book if you're a fan of Trisha Ashley or Heidi Swain especially.

While Abi faces backlash for a podcast she did which gained news domination after she changes her expressed reviews and it causes her followers harm...

As the awards get going, Elle's visit to her hometown brings some shocking realities to light about her father she uses selfishly to gain popularity and as Zoe her sister teams up with Grace after a previous betrayal by her sister Elle, Leisel's sister and Abi they set about letting the world know the truth about Elle once and for all...

Elle causes the most drama in this book undoubtedly even betraying her husband and alienating everyone she comes across as a real hard unempathetic bitch who worked hard but at a fake life and I hated her character but she was a great thought of character! Leisel was my favourite as she seemed genuinely down to earth and hard pushed to make everything work and I have to say this book was a total true seeming look at life as a mummy blogger as I imagine from worrying about day to day life to also having danger lurk all round. It was a hypnotic read I couldn't put it down at all!

We Were On A Break by Lindsey Kelk

Liv and Adam have been on holiday to Mexico only for Adam to not propose while away causing a tense flight home and agreement on taking a break to happen instead.

Cassie, Liv's friend as well as David whom she works with at the veterinary surgery all agree that maybe it's for the best. Cass is actually married to Adam's brother and got married and had a baby in a year which doesn't help Adam or Liv to think about.

Despite him going round to Liv's to try and win her back, two days later he's seen by her kissing Jane as they say goodbye which makes Liv look on Tinder and answer a message from Henry feeling less guilty about the situation now Adam's moving on, only he still wants her back but is forced to wait as she goes on holiday to Japan.

Just wait for her return...

Ooh how my much can they back and forth about being on a break! I though it was a constant roundabout of sadness on Adam's front over his guilt at not proposing while Liv seemed unsure what to make of anything occurring apart from thinking he's moved on! It was okay, purpose full to the classic Friends style on a break or not relationship but the same drama on repeat.

The Wedding Planner by Eve Devon

In this book we meet Gloria who is trying to move on after her husband, Bob left for a male model!

With a ten year old daughter Persephone to look after and a best friends wedding to plan Gloria is running around after others not seeing for a start what's right under her nose love wise...

Seth is a divorced twenty year old who's the brother of the groom that Gloria's planning the wedding of to his future wife Emma.

Only as Gloria is stung by her love previously she is a bitter character to begin the novel and it did take some time for me to warm to her however as there were some funny moments from being a lake, a cow called Gertrude whom pops up now and again causing hilarious consequences and a life drawing class all involving Seth that results in things getting heated over the course of the novel. Overall I did enjoy the last half of the book but you need to persevere the first half to reap the reward of the funny parts.

Little Vintage Carousel by Jaimie Admans

When Ness picks up Train Guys phone after he rushed off at a busy stop, she winds up late for work with his phone in hand and so her work gets involved in their story.

Nathaniel is a carousel and other old vintage ride restorer when he rings his phone the pair hit it off and after he invites her and her boss encourages her to go to meet him after she writes an article about their encounter which goes viral, she's forced to go.

In the idyllic village the pair hit it off, sharing ice creams and winning over the locals some of whom are hilarious and nosy too trying to get the couple together as they see they're a match!

However with Ness interfering visiting parents, a few truths from her boss after not doing her job work and she finds herself unhappier than ever back in London it will take a best friend to make things get better and love to have a chance...

This book starts off a bit like Our Stop did another fabulous book only in this one we have a viral article and a seaside setting along with plenty of interfering older people and ice creams too! Their love grew so naturally whilst a ghostly mystery undertones the novel too so we have an element of suspense and mystery. I also really liked the random job that Nathaniel has its a creative and unique line of work just like this book, it was a charming sweet love story and I totally recommend it!

Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

Eleanor isn't normal, first and for most this is evident but then who is, she's just dealing with a lot.

Scarred from childhood in a fire she endures the mundane everyday life she's used to from going to her office job, going home, doing crosswords and keeping to herself drowning her sorrows in vodka too.

After all her mother drummed it into her from birth that she's not worth anything and no one will ever care for her...even her past boyfriend Declan abused her and she thought it was normal sadly.

So one day when she meets new IT worked Raymond and by chance they help an old man in the street when he takes bad they start to meet up with him and then at lunch too. Eleanor develops a sort of social life she never believed she would deserve thanks to her past.

Through the book we witness her highs and lows including when things with her mother come to a head spiralling her depression and her addiction to vodka and sending her to counselling and help her come to terms to with an unobtainable crush she had on a musician as well as discover her past trauma to help her heal from and accept actions aren't her fault at all despite the guilt she's let consume her the rest of her life.

This book tackles a lot of complex issues from trauma, addiction, loneliness and the end plot twist to do with her mum makes you realise just how bad things were for Eleanor. I felt empathetic towards the main character but was happy with the portrayal of how such horrific acts can cause PTSD/trauma effects.

The Cottage On Sunshine Beach by Holly Martin

Melody and Jamie are friends and also have young puppies whom are brothers they walk together. Melody has had a lot to deal with age losing her brother and so moving to by the sea so she can be closer to her sister and nephew. Tori her best friend also moved from London and now works on Jamie's brother's fruit farm. Melody is a jewellery designer and also hopes for her mother's approval after years of never getting it or any praise for her achievements.

Jamie's friend Klaus a fellow sand sculptor, helps him realise how he feels about Melody after she asks him round for dinner.

Melody and Jamie embark on a friendship just dating situation and winds up in a few hilarious situations and many emotional times happen too and some super sweet romantic times as the couple come to realise what they truly feel for each other.

The book was so good just like Holly Martin's other great books this one made the areas sound so picturesque with the names of the areas. I loved the puppies in the book being named after film characters and Agatha an older lady who knows all the best spots for a bit of outdoor fun, if you get my drift! Holly will make you laugh, cry and smile like crazy with every book she writes without fail!

The House Of Birds & Butterflies: Dawn Chorus by Cressida McLaughlin

Abby Field works at Meadowbrook nature reserve owned by Penelope and her late husband Al, as part of their estate they set up and ran the reserve together until his death and now Abby Field has been working there for the past eighteen months making friends with the other workers, Rosa, Gavin, Stephan and
Marek.

But when the reserve is threatened by a rival whose setting is set to be used in a TV show presented by Flick Hunter, a popular lady amongst the men at least, they all need to pull together to hatch a plan to up visitor numbers. However,the arrival of a new Tennant at Peacock Cottage close on site to the reserve sets about issues being bought up that also need to be dealt with by Abby as Penelope wants the thriller writer tenant in the cottage to be happy and satisfied and not moaning about people constantly making noise by the cottage. Soon enough, Abby and author, Jack build up a relationship which goes from complaining to friends of sorts.

Abby is a great character and I love the close knit community of the village in this book, with each characters quirks they all fit nicely with each other and despite Abby's sad past, it's a great positive her job is what was her safety when she was younger.

I can't wait for the next part of the story when it gets released now!

Love Among The Treetops by Catherine Ferguson

When Twilight meets Theo on a train as well as Olivia a clean eating fanatic who turns out to be now friends with her old school bully, Lucy, who made her life hell then and soon again, now. She also stole Twilight's first love away, Jason.

Her dad is fighting cancer while her mum and him are falling into debt. However she has a plan to help them by setting up her own business as a cafe as she loves to bake, it's her passion.

Also happening in this book, Paloma her best friend lost her mum and now wants to find her birth mum while Twilight gets on with her cafe plan, Lucy and Olivia open the clean food cafe and try to sabotage her in some truly rotten acts only Twilight learns it's her old love Jason who has all the answers to Lucy's behaviour.

With a huge but powerful twist at the end for Paloma, Theo and Twilight which changes all their lives the book just kept giving and you can't help but slowly fall in love with The Treetop Cafe!

Summer Under The Stars by Catherine Ferguson

Thirty two year old Daisy has just lost her mum eleven days before her birthday musical treat was going to happen when we meet our main character.

Disappointment is evident in the beginning of the novel but also hope, she was adopted and so out there is her birth mum she would love to know about.

An aspiring writer too, her mum encouraged her and so she enters a competition in a magazine only her boyfriend Tom is always busy with work and hardly gives her attention even on his birthday glamping trip she takes him on for his thirtieth. He makes it evident he'd prefer something upmarket and high class.

Only it's in the same village she was originally adopted from and with old friend Clemmie's help they might make a discovery...

It's set to be a memorable holiday with the arguing couple in the tent next door, a handsome writer called Jake she meets in the woods and a posh hotel her boyfriend approves of over the tent just metres away, ran by a nice lady called Sylvia...

A fun read for under the sun or stars, I love the way Jake and Daisy met it was normal but funny as the story goes on I also enjoyed how Tom got the push as it was very deserving and Daisy was such a strong independent character for the choices she had to face in the novel. I also liked how we were kept guessing whom her birth mum was as it was never made obvious and came as a great shock, the best way a story can be!

A story with where we learn just how much complicated relationships can really change and become broken or better for good or bad. We see the efforts of a man wanting to keep a family together despite his actions and another man wanting to settle down. The male characters show the two sides of men in fiction and real life and it was good to have both included and not just a cheat for once. Another good book by Shari once again!

The Holiday Cottage By The Sea by Holly Martin

Tori is staying with her best friend Melody after losing the love of her life, Luc ands deciding to take a break from work in London and follow her friends to the countryside and seaside.

What she doesn't expect, is Aidan a handsome stranger she gets predicted to marry minutes after her arrival! Agatha, whom predicts her possible future marriage also leads her astray in her plans for tattoos and piercings, a real rebel lady and quite a character as she predicts more marriages amongst the villagers.

As she is an animator, she also agrees to help make and market an animation for heartberry to drum up some more trade business for them.

Meanwhile, her main reason of stay to partake in fruit picking turns out to be at night, allowing her and Aidan time alone together...

From shared hobbies to finding fiery passion after both having failed in love before with previous partners and shared family drama's, there's a lot the pair bond over and soon enough we see they were meant to be as it's natural how they collide lives. Everywhere sounds so idyllic and I loved Beast the tearaway wild dog who's girlfriend is called Beauty! It was a read to give you a case of the warm fuzzies and it didn't disappoint in any way at all, a cute and love fuelled read!

Confetti and Confusion by Daisy James

Millie and Ella are back running their Caribbean cookery school for Claudia as she still recovers. Set over a week, with a bridal party this time.

This time they set to work helping Imogen and Alex get their wedding dream despite the bride's mum not approving of their ideal wedding back home though when she finds old flame Brad here, she takes a back seat thankfully for the bride to be!

The cookery duo have to help create cake pops and a new wedding cake from the cookery school after the wedding party's original ones get destroyed and then their wedding planner goes missing adding to the worries they needn't have.

We catch up on the what was budding romance between Millie and Zach as they go on a treetop course alike to Go Ape though his ex Chloe turns up later and suddenly, but is all that meets the eye?

An exciting drama filled week back in the cookery school we can dream of and it didn't disappoint. We caught up on all the previous events and where they progressed to now as well as developing Millie into the next chapter of her life in her career. There's love and revenge plots in this book which covered the thrilling action. As well as the wedding party providing many laughs in their making and baking. It was a gorgeous tale to dream yourself in to and pretend you're also there in the Caribbean with them. A truly captivating romance read perfect for this summer heat wave!

Sunshine and Sweet Peas In Nightingale Square by Heidi Swain

Once happily married, now eight years on Kate and David are separating.

Whilst exploring Prosperous Place, they alert the owner Luke to their presence by accident but have a rather funny face to face encounter minus the serious tone too!

There's a Valentine's takeaway between friends where the friends all find out a shocking revelation about Luke and the Wentworth family legacy.

There's a shock pregnancy, surprise animal findings, new friendships and ex's turning up out of the blue as drama and tension builds between Luke and Kate.

This was a sweet read all about moving on and finding the best parts of life come together all at once, friendship and romance all in one place for Kate. Heidi writes another great romance once again.

A Summer Scandal by Kat French

Violet inherits a pier located at Swallow Beach thanks to her Grandpa where she meets Calvin her new neighbour, as she reopens the newly designed pier for adults with partisan shops.

Violet's mum reveals secrets to her about her grandma she didn't know and the events which took place at Swallow Beach and why they originally moved away.

Violet upped and left the safety net of a husband to hopefully be though he was darn keener than her and she stuck up for herself wanting to spend summer in Swallow Beach instead. Where she meets Cal, a new love interest her flat is neighbour to and he's a leatherworker like she's a costume maker. The only trouble is his mum whom is mayoress and wants to see the pier remain shut.

Violet makes friends with Barry and his granddaughter Keris, whom remember her grandmother. However as she discovers her grandmother's affair with T, she sets about discovering who T is just as Calvin's wife Ursula randomly shows up after years of being gone...

I love the mystery and rediscovering her family past, I especially loved the fact that the flat she moves into is a frozen in time historical haven making her closer to her now gone grandparents too. The love blossomed and the character of Calvin's mum loved to be outlandish assuming the pier was becoming a sex den/hide out. Violet is a vibrant character all round and comes so well with all the events which happen to her a true headstrong main protagonist. Kat writes great beach reads which never disappoint and I also love the vibrancy of the cover alive with summer sunset colours.
