Royal Rebel Book 2 Designer by Carina Axelsson

In this sequel we see how Lily is still posing on YouTube as Tiara Girl but when a photo on Instagram looks too alike her alias online, her and best friend Leonie sets about making the two look more dissimilar than they have been so far.

As Lily finally gets a design opportunity from her family, it could lead to a dream design job but as she has to learn how to dance and do royal duties alone through her princess lessons will her secret identity stay hidden as someone leaves her another note saying they know her secret...

I enjoyed the second of Lily's stories and seek how she keeps her identities apart despite the struggle and that women in her country hold more power than men in that they become queen and no kings rule. I like the girl power aspect running through this series as in modern times how things are changing so much.

My Best Friend The Suffragette by Sally Morgan

Christine is brought up in a family against suffrage and makes friends with Mary who is a wannabe detective who is a suffragette as her family support it. The two communicate with letters back and forth which tell the story as the girls families suffer for the effort of getting the vote even pulling in some historic people references too.

A great way of telling a story which is unique as well as being a gripping but fun historical read children can get into easily and get a taste of the time back then with the dedication it took women to get to vote.

Beautiful Bodies by Kimberley Rae Miller

In this memoir about lifestyle, nutrition and bodies, Kimberley opens up on her life and opinions about how harmful so called diet culture can be in modern day.

Talking openly about her struggles with weight and anorexia like behaviour, to gaining all the weight back after another restrictive and dangerous diet.

Talking about diet culture and media influence, as well as her own early modelling days and adults telling her younger self to watch her weight, we learn how damaging and worrying it plants itself into youngsters and still happens nowadays too.

She also talks about refeeding syndrome and how it takes time to repair metabolic damage once it has occurred, it can take months to repair properly a damaged metabolism.

Kimberley has opened her life to us for judging, relating and commiserating with through every high and low all women face she is brave and beautiful for doing so, any girl who has struggled will appreciate this book.

Secret Suffragette by Barbara Mitchelhill

When close to her family home the suffragettes appear fighting for women's rights, Daisy knows she's interested in joining and helping out even though folk around don't like them, mostly the men who feel like her dad to her mum that they won't and should control their wives.

However after her mum loses her job she gets up the fight to campaign harder despite the consequences after trying to get better working conditions which angers her husband and forces him to throw out their mum and move in their horrible auntie.

Daisy sticks by her mum and helps her right for women's rights despite being so young and shocked by the actions she sees the women doing around her. A courageous young girl, Daisy is a good role model of a strong girl who knows what she believes in and it was a thrilling read about an interesting time in history.

Wilde About The Girl by Louise Pentland

Following on from the first books antics, we join Robin as she faces a challenging time as she finds herself in an unexpected situation with her lover from  New York, Edward.

Meanwhile her friend Lacey is struggling to get pregnant still but her aunt Kath has found a new man, out of the blue! Whilst Robin and Lyla navigate many embarrassing mother moments and some also fun antics from play time to horse riding, crafting or just a good old party the pair are a cute duo to be championed!

The book was hilarious and had many moments in that were 'Miranda ' comedy alike. I found the storyline better in this second book as we see more of their personalities shine through from the characters in how they manage their relationships and deal with the delicate situations mentioned in the book from miscarriage to pregnancy. It was a lot of fun but very serious at times and was much like real life.

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

Stella is an autistic econometrist, whilst her mum believes she works too hard and should find a partner, Stella craves closeness to someone and so chooses an escort from a company to help her and teach her how to be good at relationships and sex.

As Michael helps Stella, he refuses to take her pay despite his family being plagued by money worries at lot due to his mother's ill health as she has cancer.

The pair have a sizzling chemistry and it's a very sex heavy book, obviously due to the subject nature of the book! The couple were amazing, so different but that's what worked as Michael was so understanding where Stella felt insecure and unsure. I liked that Michael was a clothing designer too as it showed he took care of his craft and was passionate about something just like Stella and her numbers and figures. A great contrasting pair with a relationship that is almost dreamlike sounding how it comes about.

Watching You by Lisa Jewell

Joey and Alfie are newlyweds, moving in to Joey's brother's and sister in-laws as they resettle back in Bristol. However, headteacher Tom an older man is the sight of Joey's sudden new found obsession he lives two doors down with his wife and son.

There's Freddie, Tom's son and who watches Joey whilst taking photographs of Jenna and others whom he's watched...

Then Jenna who's friends and her laugh over Tom and finding him attractive especially Bess while her mum remembers him despite her issues...

You won't see some of it coming at all, for the twist ending I managed to guess the guilty party at about twenty five percent left of the book due to the various action happening. The characters each had something doubtable about them for instance their actions from watching to photograph taking!

Overall it was a very well plotted book and for a while you consider every character guilty of something, it's a riveting read, perfect for any fan of thrillers and murder mystery books.

Sunshine and Secrets by Daisy James

Heading off on holiday with her mum, Millie is looking forward to her break until her sister Jen ropes her in to help author and creator of The Paradise Cookery School, Claudia after she falls I'll. So, pastry chef Millie diverts her travel to St Lucia and her time to oversee kitchen unit fittings, chocolate making classes with the assistance of fellow chef Ella and grounds master Zach, whom teases her like crazy since her accidental first encounter with him.

All the time whilst creating her delicious bakes, with all locally sources fruit and cocoa beans, it's a therapy of sorts to her mind and thinking as she hashes over her past with Luke and their more simple life before the shocking revelation came and turned her life into what it is now, living in London back home while taking chances abroad.

With secrets to discover and uncover, new friends and a fresh chance at love, we follow Millie through her heartache to possibly discover her future and further adventure awaiting her.

A perfect summer read and full of dreamy sweet treats it's enough to keep you hooked as I devoured this book in one sitting!
The story flowed and the plot kept you guessing about the couples who would work out as well as if the actual cookery school would get up and running in time, a gripping treat.

Perfect for fans of Jenny Colgan and Cathy Bramley.

My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella

Demeter may be the boss at her work but no one likes her and they all moan about her behind her back. When she makes Cat dye her hair and doesn't have the courtesy to listen to her ideas for company projects.

Then Alex turns up, a client for adult toys like drones and enlists Cat's help as Demeter is stuck with hair dye all over her. As Cat find's out what a big deal his family is in business, she can't believe he's interested in meeting up with her.

However, she uncovers Demeter and Alex previously were together whilst she gets sacked by her as well resulting in her reluctantly going home to help her dad and step mum run their glamping business as it begins to flourish.

Then Demeter turns up there on holiday... let the revenge commence!

She comes to realize Demeter's life isn't perfect and her image on Instagram changes to the title in honor of Cat's life now with that new perspective.

I really like Sophie's books and own all of them but this one isn't my favourite unfortunately as I found myself waning in concentration throughout reading it as it wasn't as gripping as her previous novel's. I think it is just me not really able to immerse myself into the story enough and still did enjoy the more dramatic parts of the book.

It won't make me not read her future books in any way and I still love her work!

Eliza is a musician and waitress whom met Angus a year before he moved in next door at a skate park and fancied him, they have an ongoing attraction over the years...

This book was good and I really liked the book involving triplets with one guy liking them all in varying ways even though it did seem a bit odd that he could like or love them all! Their story had highs and lows just like real life even though I had predicted that Phoebe would end up how she did because of her chosen lifestyle.

My Rad Life: A Journal by Kate Schatz

This a journal is an empowering book for women and girls filled with influential quotes and illustrations of some of the most famous and idolized women in the world today.

The idea is that we can use this journal to express ourselves in any way we want, with our own doodles or quotes, stories, poems or whatever the heck you want to fill the space with!

It is a great journal to allow us to dream big of our life we want and how to achieve it step by step like the women mentioned have done.
