When Denham Young rocks up back in town, Livia can't believe it. Fifteen year old her had gotten pregnant by him when he lived with her family and was supposedly her half brother. She had to give up her young daughter as her parents shunned her into a quiet life, until Blitz Craven danced into her world and heart as in the previous first book, Forbidden Dance.
As this book is the second in the lovers dance series of standalones, I am beyond excited for this journey to play out.
It didn't disappoint and took me just over an hour and a half to finish!
Denham Young doesn't give up in practically stalking Livia and waits outside her dance studio in his truck getting evermore persistent to wanting access to his daughter even when he finds out she was adopted. We learn how Livia and him got caught up in teenage lust and passion and got carried away until Denham was sent away and his life revolved around jail sentences since. Continuing to insist he's a changed man, eventually Blitz and Livia have had enough, a restraining order hasn't deterred his persistence and so they bail him out of jail and offer to make contact with their daughter despite Livia already knowing her, just not as a mother. However, Denham shows careless and tactless he truly can be and Livia finds herself stunned at his reaction.
You in won't forget this ending in a hurry!
Deanna has done another smashing job with this book, I truly love this set so far and the passion between Blitz and Livia as well as their nature's fit so well I feel compelled and addicted to read all of these books as they're just so well written and detailed I really appreciate the author allowing me this arc copy to review and will rave about these books and the author till everyone I know reads them!

All Of The Above by James Dawson
Moving to a new school is hard and here we follow along the journey of Toria as she falls in with the outcast crowd and finds a great mix of friends.
She also gets a boyfriend, Nick, from meeting him at their hang out, a seafront golf course, which is being threatened by the council to be shut down.
Toria and Polly set about getting a petition started and try to gain as many signatures as possible to keep their place open.
In the book, a character passes away, a gay relationship ensues and Toria and Polly find themselves growing closer as Nick's band takes off and he moves to London to pursue his dream.
A story for teenagers coming of age, discovering who they are and experiencing new, different, scary and exciting things with a few low blows along the way. Just like real life.

99 Days by Katie Cotugno
As Molly returns back to her hometown, takes up her old job again and crosses paths with old friends whom are now new enemies in some cases, gets entangled with Patrick and Gabe Donnelly once again, life is proving to be tricky and pressuring her to make a decision before its too late.
There's also the fact that everywhere she goes, still people call her a slut and give her the side eye. Slowly Molly does make friends and also peace with her past decisions and actions.
We see how her adoptive mum exposed her secrets about cheating on her boyfriend in her latest book. Which unfortunately for Molly, exposed it all to her friends and the town people.
This book reminds me of Abbi Glines The Vincent Brothers books and I enjoyed them although this book is more suitable to younger readers compared to them.

No Filter by Orlagh Collins
After her mum tried to overdose, Emerald finds herself sent away to Ireland for the summer holiday's to stay with her Grandma. Whilst on the beach there she first meets Liam, a local boy whom wants to pursue a career in the music industry. She then has quite a summer being a normal teenager for once, falling in love and going to parties, not like usual back home even though her best friend Kitty does that sort of thing, Emerald has had to look after her mum until this summer.
This book honestly didn't quite jell with me and the of felt very up and down throughout the story, the base of to novel's plot made it sound more engaging than I found it by the end to be completely honest in this review. However, it did have some fun chapters and I enjoyed reading Liam and Emerald's perspective over a more traditional narrative. I would she encourage you to try and read it for yourselves and judge it accordingly as not everyone will enjoy a book as another person.
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

Waiting For Callback Take Two by Perdita and Honor Cargill
In the second book of the series, this book follows on from where Elektra had just landed her first serious movie job, throwing her into a life of film work, on set drama and no traditional school.
The downside however, is that she misses out on time with her boyfriend as he's off in Transylvania filming his highly awaited vampire film. Rumours fly all about romances on set and as Elektra and those around her worry for her, she finds a herself making a tough decision.
Will it pay off? Read it to find out!
I really enjoyed it, a lot more action with there being a film made now in the book and it was more entertaining with the range of new characters in the novel.

Waiting For Callback by Perdita & Honor Cargill
In this book, we follow the journey of Elektra Ophelia as she signs up with an acting agency and experiences her normal teen life at school and drama club whilst also attending many auditions for varying roles of interest.
Each role Elektra gets put forward for is very different to say the least!
From squirrel voicing to playing a carrot on an advert, the book has hilarious highs then the usual teenage larks come in to play.
From a best friend argument to kissing a boy at a party and then her mum later seeing them together! The book keeps you entertained and is a great read for any other fifteen year old girl like Elektra.

Super Awkward by Beth Garrod
Bella is fifteen and a half with a lot of unfortunate events which are hilarious but still tragic to her as she faces the embarrassment of them!
Her best friend Rachel is having her sixteenth birthday party on the night Bella's mum takes her and her thirteen going on thirty year old sister away to an odd mystic Meg style retreat. As if this isn't bad enough, her ex Luke texts her a picture of him kissing a new and unidentifiable girl which makes Bella wonder who it is.
Then close to the end of her holiday, she meets seventeen year old Zac. Musician, college student and with a crazier mum possibly than her own! They met under laughable circumstances and clicked over their shared same style humour and Bella finds herself crushing hard.
Yet as the book progresses, Zac turns up at her school as a sixth form helper to the lower years! That's not all either as a huge reveal about his home life becomes apparent too.
As Bella tries hard to save her prom which hangs in the balance of severely endangered, Luke starts to cause a lot of trouble, will he manage to split up Bella, Rachel and Tamsin for good?!
Also, look out for the ending, a sure to make you shriek with happiness moment!
A fun, girly, gritty and witty read! It's full of awesome hilariously jaw dropping moments, unputdownable and perfect to read in the sun and summertime!

Other Breakable Things by Kelley York & Rowan Altwood
Three years ago, a terrible accident for a girl saved Luc's life and provided him with a much needed heart to prolong his life.
Now, he finds out the heart is starting to fail and so he needs another transplant. Yet after the anguish of waiting before, he's now contemplating euthanasia, so he can die on his own terms and not his body's terms.
Evelyn, has returned home to their town after her mum took her off to live with her new boyfriend at the time. Evelyn missed seeing Luc and is happy to be back and so they slowly start to hang out again. She is aware there's something wrong with Luc but is not entirely sure what exactly is wrong with him. We also learn her mum's boyfriend used to abuse her and Luc is whom she chooses to confide in about this.
Luc enlists Evelyn to accompany him on an adventure as he wants to go and look into euthanasia but lives away from the area they are located. He plans the trip with interests of Evelyn's interwoven and we see from the split narrative point of view just how much he grows to care for her more despite him growing weaker as the book goes on. He still plans on killing himself, yet Evelyn is obviously emotional when she finds tabs open on his phone about euthanasia, pill bottles and a business card too all to do with a specific drug. The couple really care for each other so much that Luc wants to make sure Evelyn is looked after when he's gone so calls his parents to make them promise so.
A running theme through the book also linking them is the butterflies Luc collects and also wants to see in the conservation building when they're travelling but they have to break in as it was shut. Luc also buys Evelyn a butterfly necklace, another reminder of him for her to keep. Evelyn makes a lot of origami animals such as the crane from the cover of the book, she states in the book it helps her stay calm and keeps her hands busy but also again, it's symbolic as she does make a lot of them around Luc, nervous at first in their feelings but less so as we go on.
This book was beautifully crafted and reminiscent of Morgan Matson's novel, Amy and Roger's Epic Detour which I love!
It dealt with the topic of euthanasia and transplants seriously and showed the toll it takes on everyone, how one life can have a ripple effect on so many others one way or another.
If you like books with adventure, love and an interest in health issue storylines, this is your book!
Thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!
Jelly Baby by Jean Ure
When their aunt Cass moves out and new step mum in, everything changes for these two sisters.
Flora and Emily begin to feel unhappy and uncomfortable with to situation as pokes about their weight, diet, clothes, cleaning of the house routine and their beloved cat get too much.
Em runs away back to her aunt Cass who now lives in Brighton were she runs her business, leaving Flora distraught and resulting in her and their dad coming clean about the step mum situation.
This book is a quick read but quite a necessary one, many children grow up in homes where they're not listened to and so suffer. In this book, their father may not listen at first but proves persistence pays off as he puts his family first over any love attempts and shows what parenting should be like when it restsbon one set of shoulders, he wanted the best and kept it that way eventually.

I'll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson
Noah and Jude are twins who were extremely close until their mum dies suddenly one day. After the event Noah hides some serious secrets from his family about his mum which ends up causing more pain until Jude breaks through to Noah later but will she understand why he hid the information from her?
The book is very art heavy and the flashbacks to past events aren't made clear. At least, not on my kindle version. I kept getting confused reading it but the base of the novel around Noah's guilt was always present as was the issue about his sexuality.

Playlist For A Broken Heart by Cathy Cassidy
Used to the rich life of private school and mansion home in Richmond, London, nothing prepares Paige for just what is about to happen to her life.
She finds herself out of the play she desperately wanted to star in, playing Juliet opposite her Romeo, Alex and instead moving to Bath to live with her mum, dad, aunt, uncle and their three young sons, Tasmin their daughter whom she finds herself sharing a room with and their cat and dog.
When her aunt buys her a CD from a charity shop she's intrigued, the bands are local and their songs are summing up her life right now perfectly. She plans along with cousin Tasmin and her best friend, Clover, to track down the mystery boy who made this mix and resolve the case of who made the CD that knows her so well.
Of course, in the story her best friend from back in Richmond Allegra visits along with Alex and they come for the music festival happening and too see the flat that eventually her family moves into and makes their new home whilst her mum works in a school office with her sister and her dad sets up his new business. This book was a great fast read and perfectly makes you believe that love can bloom out of any situation no matter how bad things seem. I loved the mystery and how well the girls jelled overall by the end of the book, they truly needed each other family and friendship wise and the final conclusion to whom exactly the mystery boy is was great too and made me feel like Paige was going to be with the guy for a long time.

The Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson
Confined to his room, Matthew suffers with severe OCD and is scared of being contaminated with germs and passing it on to his family to him he believes will get sick and die if he didn't keep up with his cleaning routine he has. He also notes every movement of the neighbours as he watches behind his glass windows confined to his house like a fish in a tank.
When his neighbours grandson, fifteen months old too, goes missing suddenly Matthew finds himself along with other residents shocked. Only Matthew knows he can bring young Teddy home from his notes made hopefully. Along with some help from fellow neighbours Jake and Melody in investigating, they come to find out just how close to them the root cause of the kidnapping was.
We also learn as the novel progresses and Matthew battles his OCD, his baby brother never made it home from being born and it happened when Matthew had thrown up on his mum and he had chicken pox, therefore contaminating her and the baby.
This book was a brilliantly crafted piece of work and so great to read and not guessing who done it and be right as there were so many conflicting twists and turns to make it a read straight through in one sitting book for me and I loved it.

The Cows by Dawn O'Porter
Well of course I'm reviewing Dawn's latest book!
If you've seen past posts on here, you'll have seen my review of Dawn's previous book, Goose.
However I'm also really excited to be partaking in the blog tour to accompany the launch as well!
Tara works for a production company ran by a secretly gay boss, Adam and has a six year old daughter, Annie. When she goes on a date with Jamie, Stella's boss they hit it off and on her way home the texts get steamier between the two and so she accidentally ends up being filmed in public, indecently.
Stella's identical twin, Alice has died of ovarian cancer, her best friend has just announced that she's pregnant and Stella wishes she was pregnant and not newly dumped. She still wears her sister's clothes and even takes on her persona online on Tinder to find a man to have a one night stand with to get her wish of a baby before she has her mastectomy as her mum had breast cancer and carried the BRCA gene.
Cam writes a blog, an extremely popular one that can pay for her to live single in London. She has a younger lover by eight years she writes about as well as the fact she doesn't want children.
As all the drama ensues through out the book, Cam writes to stick up for Tara in all her media and going viral frenzy. Stella, who reads Cam's blog can't possibly understand how she can't not want children as it's her dream. We follow all their stories as they collide and there's hilarious moments ahead for sure! Also look out for the police officers names, truly made me laugh!
The book sheds light on dealing with various issues and the dangers of a videos going viral but finding friends in unexpected places. But seriously, it challenges the stereotypical gender role of a woman, to prove as the title suggests, we don't all have to be made to breed and we're not all bitchy characters, we have our own opinions on life and women can be happy alone, married, have children or have none at all.
Another great book from Dawn, many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review the book for them and take part in the blog tour for the release as well, now go check out the other reviews and Q & A's as well guys!

A Life Without You by Shari Low
Set in Glasgow focusing on the lives of two friends since they were five years old, Dee and Jen.
They run a business together now all week except Sunday's or probable party day considering when we meet them!
However, a crime on the doorstep and a one in a million accident sees us watch as Dee tries to save little Archie a young child from a car hitting him, thus instead we see Dee through Jen's horrified eyes and how she comes to term with what she's not just witnessed but just whom she has now lost.
We see Jen go through the motions of grief and the support she has from everyone including Pete, her boyfriend as well as seeing Dee's family including her husband coming to terms with their sudden tragic loss.
But then Jen's life is changed once again only this time on the day of her best friends funeral in a way she didn't see coming.
The romances in the book and the actions of our characters display all the usual chick lit traits and I also enjoyed the a split perspectives amongst the group of friends and family around Jen and Dee.
This was a great book from a lovely new author to me, I can't wait for more to come in the future from Shari.
Thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

An OCD Love Story by Corey Ann Haydu
Bea suffers with severe OCD and this book is based around her falling in love with another OCD sufferer.
She has a lot of issues in terms of her OCD, she follows a famous male, Austin and his wife, Sylvia at she has the appointment after them at therapy with Dr Pat. She also has a phobia of driving fast and hitting someone and not realizing when really she's driving at thirty five miles an hour or less. She also feels unsafe around sharp objects as she feels she may accidentally harm someone.
At Dr Pat's group therapy sessions, she meets Beck. He becomes her boyfriend but suffers his own phobia's, counting and doing things in eights. He's a gym and cleaning addict as he feels he could've saved his eight year old sister that way by being stronger we later learn.
We see how complex and individual each case of OCD is and how it differs in form from person to person. I really liked the book although I felt the storyline could've been stronger around the stalking as I know I wouldn't enjoy being stalked yet Austin and Sylvia seem to more embrace it. Maybe it's because they're famous and are used to fans!

Suicide Notes From Beautiful Girls by Lynn Weingarten
What a book, I was very intrigued to read this one so much since it has been so popular I thought I'd give it a read too, as usual and it didn't disappoint though it was a bit odd in places.
When Delia 'dies' suddenly, Julie's life takes a turn to trying to find out the truth surrounding her old friends death. Originally deemed as suicide, as a note is found as well as the circumstances she supposedly died in are her worst fear, fire.
Julie takes it upon herself to discover just what happened, this is where her boyfriend, Delia's boyfriend and stepfather become suspects to Julie for playing a part in Delia's death somehow.
There's also the fact that the voicemail left to Julie sparked her trying to find out what happened and somehow led off to everything that happens.
It started off better but unfortunately to me seemed to get worse as it went on in a lot of area's. I will say that I did like the twist at the end and a huge twist surrounding the Delia suicide mystery as well.

Strawberry Crush by Jean Ure
Mattie cant believe it, her cousin, Maya who is only twelve has got another huge crush and its only growing more and more on the older, eighteen year old Jake.
Mattie and Maya are cousins, their mum's being twins however a main theme in the book is how unstable a home Maya has. Maya's father is always away on an adventure trying to find out what extravagant idea he dreams up and then brings home but never pursues and so he remains jobless whilst Maya's mum is her only stable parent in her life whilst she has no male attention from her father, she turns to caring older Jay.
Mattie quite simply and understandably, plays the worried friend and concerned cousin role. She eventually figures out where her cousin keeps disappearing off to when she no longer catches the bus to school with her or goes to her friends in the school holiday's and decides to tell her mum what's happening until thankfully, a huge secret about Jay comes out at school.
Maya is a perfect example of how situations which could've happened as she was clouded with a strong list for this unattainable elder boy, when really, Mattie was right to act how she did being concerned despite Maya's anger and disagreement at the start.
I really enjoyed this book and praise it for raising the issue of the age gap in younger years and the danger that is posed there and so educates younger readers of target audience at what could happen in real life not just in a book.

One Of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus
Four students and one teacher, Simon,Nate, Addy, Bronwyn and Mr. Avery are in a detention, when two cars crash into each other.
They were chosen for that detention due to phones going off in their backpacks which weren't theirs.
Whilst Mr Avery goes to check on the events outside, the students on detention are talking when Simon drinks water he says tastes weird. Then he's on the floor, having an allergic reaction.
But all the medication in the college and on Simon, was gone.
An hour after he started reacting, he was dead.
Then police and councillors get involved and each character undergoes investigation as the truth as to how Simon died comes out as peanut traces in the water and cup he drank from.
The story is obviously not one that's simple, it's a mystery after all. I'm using no spoilers so I'm summing this one up on my thoughts throughout reading it. It uses Tumblr as the outlet of the murderer's voice in their messages and through them we find out they were in the room when he died which makes the book more gripping. It was a little slow in parts, but I'm impatient at finding out more details too so it worked both ways there. We definitely learn more about the suspects characters as we go on and how Simon wasn't liked by a lot of people for the things he did as he ran an app which revealed a lot of secrets people had hidden and could, would and have destroyed relationships. The last part of the book really changes the normal idea back around and then more comes to light around the death of Simon, I certainly didn't predict this one!
The book app messages are written in a style alike Gossip Girl whilst the secrets and lies remind me of Pretty Little Liars.
This book was kindly sent to me by the publishers for review!

Suicide Notes by Michael Thomas Ford
This book focuses on the life of fifteen year old Jeff, he meets Sadie within the hospital. Sadie tried to commit suicide before being admitted and does have some disturbing things to say at times, however she made Jeff feel happier at having a friend.
A new admission of a young jock guy, Ranken makes Jeff finally face up to the reason he tried to really kill himself and face the fact that *spoiler* he likes guys.
The reasons behind his admission and his suicide attempt which landed him in there become clear and obvious that he felt he would be judged and outcast, especially by his friend, Amy on the outside as he made an embarrassingly unrequited pass at her boyfriend.
The book was good and tackled two delicate topics in one very well, I would have liked to have seen how Amy felt when Jeff came out from treatment however.

Emergency Admission's by Kit Wharton
Joining the NHS ambulance service as a driver since 2003, it seems like more drama entails on each shift than in a soap we might watch on TV!
Patients described from true journal accounts made by Kit previously awaken us to the hard work and terrifying situations they may face, unaware of at first what exactly they've been called out to. A few snippets of information can't explain how the patient is fully at all.
Many accounts involve the police being used as accompanying safety due to severe histories of mental health or abusive behavior. Patients have been known to them over time for various reasons and at times the situations are so shocking to think of being in, a great one for this is giving birth when driving and being in or near to a field in the middle of nowhere!
There's more where that came from but I don't want to spoil the book, you NEED to read it!
Kit is an hilarious man and I would rather have a jokey member of the ambulance crew than an unnerving silent serious one. The situations he's been through to get to where he is now show his dedication to his career now.
This is definitely my type of book and thank the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!

My Secret Rockstar Boyfriend by Eleanor Wood
This book was everything I've hoped it would be!
Set around the life of eighteen year old Tuesday, yes that's her name! We see her personal blog shared only with her boyfriend, her mum and best mates Nishi and Anna, accidentally attract the attention of the twenty three year old ex and now once again rock star, Jackson. We see how her and Jackson become closer by emailing back and forth before eventually arranging to meet up when Jackson plays his comeback gig at Glastonbury.
All the while this is going on however, Tuesday is supposed to be revising toward her English exam which is her last one to come for the end of her A-levels and the one that matters the most to her personally as she wants to be a writer, hence why she started up her blog in the first place. The exam is set to be the Monday after Glastonbury but will she make it back in time, or will Jackson keep her attention instead? Read the book to find out!
I really liked the character of Tuesday and found her to be very true to a typical modern day teenager and she really showed intuition in terms of how to keep things going your way even when a lot of bad stuff has happened. She also has very typical mixed feelings towards her mum and how she handles having boyfriends and husbands which influences Tuesday and how she portrays love in the novel though she sees her current boyfriend treats her terribly eventually.
If you enjoyed Zoella's Girl Online books, you will love this one which originally came out before Zoella's acclaimed series.

The Escape by C. L. Taylor
Jo is late leaving her student support officer job at university to pick up her daughter, Elise when a strange woman walks up wanting a lift, has Elise's glove and a creepy exchange, chilling for Jo takes place as Paula knows her family and says Jo's husband Max whom works as an investigative journalist, will know more.
Jo already suffers with agoraphobia and seems to have some form of anxiety and panic attacks related to that also after she lost a previous pregnancy of a baby boy. She obviously feels over protective of her daughter, a natural mother's instinct but on a much severer level to others normally.
Paula, knows Max as Martin and confronts him at one point about him taking something which wasn't his and Paula wants it back.
She'll destroy his family to do so.
The book is gripping, gritty, suspenseful and engaging enough for you to devour it in one sitting as I have done!
Towards the end as missing person enquiries ensue, all I can say is to watch out as all the lies and mislaid trust become obvious as links are made. The book shows just how scary it is to realise around you aren't as you seem to think.
C. L. Taylor hasn't disappointed me yet, I have all her work up to now as well and they just are the best crime, mystery thrillers you could wish for.
Thanks so much to the publishers for allowing me to review her latest book!

Faceless by Alyssa Sheinmel
Maisie Winters is a normal sixteen year old girl. She was looking forward to prom with her boyfriend, Chireg and going to college or University with her best friend Serena. A passionate runner, she could've got a scholarship.
Yet her life gets changed forever one night. A thunderstorm causes a tree she's running by to collapse on her as she was approaching her home mere houses away. A neighbour put out the electrical fire happening to her. Yet after waking from a coma, she can't begin to comprehend what has changed.
Waking to find severe burns to her left side and her face, Maisie finds the strength to get a face transplant after her nose, chin and cheeks burnt off severly and learn to love life again no matter how much it can throw at you to deal with. Sure it takes time and a break up too, doubling the blow but Serena and her parents support despite their arguing and splitting up.
Maisie is a very strong girl and shows the extent of her courage to try and rebuild her life, not become a stranger like she feels at first towards her new face.
I really enjoyed this book and am glad to have finally checked it off on tbr list!

The Names They Gave Us by Emery Lord
Luce is a pastor's daughter, captain of the swim team despite her asthma and has a doting boyfriend, Lukas.
Yet, her mum fought breast cancer, to the knowledge of everyone as she is also the school nurse as well as pastor's wife.
For Luce, Prom was magical until doubts bubble up towards her mum's condition after the concerned head principal approached her.
After a double mastectomy they learn the cancer has spread to her mum's lymph nodes and so her parents ask her to keep things normal and go and work as a camp councillor for the summer at camp where she usually goes. She worries about her mum of course but goes to camp especially as her boyfriend has paused their two year strong relationship.
At camp she has a good time and makes friends with Anna, a fellow councillor. However the kids at camp have a lot of issues such as underage pregnancy, health conditions, being transgender, suicide and dead parents. At camp they can escape the bad and enjoy the activities on offer.
Then trumpet player Henry Jones sets Luce's pianist heart a flutter which is great, until Lukas turns up!
Cue a lot of drama ahead, a family secret found out by accident and then an emergency in the hospital the force of love within a family has never been stronger.
The books deals with teen pregnancy and the pressures of cancer on a family and the individuals it shows the good and bad of each and the way things get better or worse before they can flip around again and again but love around you never changes, never wavers.
A great new novel by Emery Lord, thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review it for them!
